  1. The output shaft is pretty long anything extra off the end would be really hard on bearings with all the leverage and torque. Could make something compact to hold only a sprocket that would be ok but i would still need to run it to a jackshaft with a clutch... and probably a second jackshaft to get the gearing better or I'd be stuck with a 14" sprocket on the axle.... should just make up a bellhousing adapter and throw a gearbox off a 4k or something on it and drop in some light.
  2. Hmm snow mobile parts seem to be where its at 1 1/8 clutches exist not sure if this is just the drive side of a CVT as they use a massive drive belt. The site doesn't list a driven side or a pulley..... anyone from Canada??
  3. Sussed it. My boy been a bit of a show off can tip this thing on 2 wheels and keep it going for bloody ages however not when im looking..... which of course pops the axle bearings out of their rubber mounts. So now i have figured out what's been making the axle move i can fix it. He did manage better donuts than ever before it threw the chain hes itching to get it fixed.
  4. Instant ice blocks..... unfortunately not my build but i do get to eat them. 8 minutes for firm 10 and the are at dry ice temp and need cryo gloves to get them out.
  5. Made a set of zoomies! My neighbours are going to love me later.... muffler has long since been binned. This thing appears to have a blind turbo oil drain cast in ready to go, in the perfect spot so i think I'll be making this the turbo engine now being newer and 80cc bigger will help im sure. Also has more places to take oil off and an oil cooler.
  6. After few short laps of lawn my son manage to some how bend the back axle....... ffs back to drawing board with that. Hopefully wont take much to sort, everything appears to have shifted 10mm to the right so might just see if everything has settled and move engine over to line up again.
  7. Hey its a 1 1/8 " shaft ideally id like to run a 428 pitch chain. The size of the shaft also means im stuck with probably a 16-18 tooth i guess. Not that stuff isn't available it is just outside if my preferred gearing and i can't run a centrifugal clutch straight on the engine which adds to the complexity if making it useful.
  8. Considering ripping crank out and getting it machined down to 1" i can't even find a sprocket to fit let alone a clutch that isn't belt drive or $600 in 1 1/8".... i can get a sprocket from overseas but its a machine size pitch not anything i could use on a go kart etc.
  9. Im aware the chain is loose it has so many things on the move i just bloody sent it! let it settle then adjusted it after putting the milk and bread away. Yes i rode it to the shops.....
  10. Finished this today test drove it up road. Goes hard! Like really stupidly hard with the 50 tooth sprocket it shouldn't struggle to get a wheel going now. Brakes are huge and pull it up really well. All absolutely wedged in there.
  11. Tyres and repainted rims done. Token foot brake has been removed ready for the disc swap. Looks cool on balloon tyres!
  12. Will be running with a patent pending @Kimjon "sprotar" as this is tight as for space in the back to fit a decent brake disc setup. Ultimately will grab a set of the front disc brakes off Motiveparts to pull it up thinking of a way to add some shocks and springs too. it would be pretty easy to widen and lengthen it a little, my boy is starting to grow quite quickly so this will just keep evolving as he bloody loves it! It whips his mates quad bikes.
  13. Ive looked and its possible to bang a chain drive between them piece of piss.... but it'll only smoke the clutch as its currently rated to 11hp ive machined it take more but ideally would need 2-3 of them on a jackshaft to transfer power to a decent tyre. At moment it just smokes up and goes with some traction it'd start breaking stuff again.
  14. Made one wheel up to see if there would be clearance issues as they are wider and taller they have worked out mint! No tight spots at all. I need to make up a new spacer to hold the axle centered as the original one has crumbled leaving about an 8mm gap glad i found it before lunching the new chain.
  15. Well ive got till Christmas day to do a few things for my boy... one of the mobility scooter grey tyres exploded while i was moving it blew my hat off and lenses out of my sunnies! Made me jump. Anyway new tyres a 50t sprocket and a pit bike disc are going in to make this a bit flash. Painted up the rims with new stainless cap screws. Floated idea with my boy of fitting a v twin. Hes a bit lukewarm on the idea haha.
  16. Im tempted to buy a tube bender and start again to be honest as this works bloody well now but has its limitations being stand up and hard tail yet i dont want to cut it up. Ive got a pair of 205 50 13 Eagers stashed in roof for a rainy day. I'd like to build a trike with a sport bike front end on it to get it nice and low with some rake added. One of these engines would happily drag a good size car at highway speeds so i reckon a trike would be pretty rapid. Even something like this floats my boat.... i might consider a bit more chopping to convert to that.
  17. My boy has been pestering me for a drift trike for ages.... since hes a stocky little bugger and more keen on doing donuts and power slides than jumps and going fast. this engine with heaps of torque and a capped rev limit should be just be the thing for big skids i just need to figure out how to package it. 4 wheels floats my boat better so could be some form of slammed quad with a solid mounted rear axle and short front suspension travel to help it dig in.
  18. @Kimjon Cheers will see how i go im running an electric pump to keep the SU carb happy at moment, it runs a battery and charging system. My sons mobility scooter could use one though its always running out of gas. Probably going to be Christmas break before i get out of house though
  19. Hey just spotted this on TM pretty cheap would be compact enough for your stretched bike. https://www.trademe.co.nz/2411466369
  20. Minor fail ive assembled it on my trestle instead of the floor and now its too heavy to lift down.... forget how heavy these things are with all the shit on them i took it all off on the other engine. Will start stripping unnecessary shit off to make lighter and more compact.
  21. What do you do when you need a big fuel tank but your surrounded by fire extinguishers...... Shortened and rewelded needs a tidy up and some caps and a AN-4 bung put in it an a few tabs to mount it. My fuel pump shit itself on Friday so will maybe relocate new one up front with the tank to free up some real estate for a bigger wheel and new exhaust pipes ive got sitting in a box.
  22. Well im happy.! Has oil pressure accidentally pegged it on the limiter first start as a return spring was in backwards. Run 500ml of petrol through it so now i need something to put under it.
