  1. Ran it for a bit longer today to get heat into everything exhaust and turbo. VGT is weird when you muck around with the vane control it goes from silent to fucking loud! Turbo is doing its thing but engine has got an electronic rev limiter so cant give give it berries to see what it can do, will disable it. Need to get the SU on and some plumbing done
  2. Scored some polyethylene sleeves for back tyres so it can make heaps of noise and not get to much speed on. Full poser spec but should rip a good skid without sleeves which is mainly why i build these things.
  3. Like all my previous previous projects I've cut it in half and made it longer and lower. Turbo has plenty of room but the exhaust will need a guard over it to prevent skin grafts been needed.
  4. These are for the front fortunately so horsepower wont be too much of an issue..... though im thinking i might want front brakes these look like i could still shave them down to fit. 200$ for everything in photo seems real reasonable.
  5. Cheers i did try going through your build threads but didn't know which one it was in. Any idea what the 3 knurled cap screws on the rim do? Both these rims have them.

  7. My son rocked up with some awesome looking magnesium go kart wheels that will look wicked on the front! Might try find some for the Rear too. As a bonus they should sit it on its guts. Its going to have to run a jackshaft to get power to a usable clutch I'll just buy an Ebay 1" unit and be done with it the clutch can run on the jackshaft instead of the motor as the 1 1/8" engine shaft is a prick of a size.
  8. Inspiration.... It all fits surprisingly well. I'll be adding the length back in the middle of the bike so foot room is better and legs stay clear of the exhaust and forward of the output shaft. Axle is burly enough i think it'll spin rather than hook and go to be honest its still pretty light.
  9. Yup home has been found. Going to need a bit of lengthening to fit turbo and free up room for a jackshaft. It would work as it is though.

  11. Well fuck me ive owned this almost a year true to Muncie ownership its spent a good chunk of that wof regd and parked up with weeds growing up around it..... So it just out of the blue thru up a battery light and all the other warning lights at same time just after fitting the new dash and would work then die on and off at random. The cause after much diagnosis was a dead alternator voltage Reg. Only genuine parts would do! And were surprisingly hard to find.
  12. Discovered on my other engine equal length pipes dont seem to crack hence the pipe closest to turbo is doing a full loop and these will get far hotter as well. The other pipe will duck through the loop into bottom of the 2-1 collector. I will brace the turbo to take the weight too. Turbo location has been dictated by oil feed and drain locations and i have to keep space free for a clutch or drive of some kind and also keeping the hotside clear of anything plastic that could melt. (Lots on this engine) Whatever it goes in i can build around this configuration, still leaning towards a road legal trike.
  13. Started it with my zoomies..... sounded terrible oh well better start on some spaghetti headers. Hung turbo where i wanted it and started sitting bends in place going to be easier than i thought.

  15. Sidetracked as usual went through roadworks and had a fist size lump of tarseal and gravel flung at my car taking out windscreen and headlight.... Front of car off for new headlight and clean up of engine bay earths while there was access. Dont recommend Ebay headlight lenses they look great but dont fit.
  16. An hour in the ultrasonic cleaner later resulted in a pile of shit coming out of it! Could vapour blasting make it look new ? Anyway will polish the dash pot and think what im doing in lieu of the float chamber...... decided to get creative so i can run boost without needing a $300 fuel pump and $200 regulator. Aircraft mechanics at work have it figured out for me i just have to build it.
  17. All broken down for its date with the ultrasonic bath at work. And polishing of the external bits. This engines getting an SU as well will have some cool shit done to it
  18. Hmm not good put 3 hours in trying to fix it axle is bent carrier has about 5mm of runout. Probably going to put grinder through it and start again mate at work has offered up his Workshop and and some parts to help out.
  19. What type of cert inspector would i need to involve to build a trike? Preferably so i can register as a car to save on the massive rego costs will be running my Honda gx690 engine with a turbo on it for added fun. Will graft a narrowed independent subframe to a bike chassis to keep it all fairly straight forward.
  20. How much power does a motor like yours punch out? That drive belt is massive.
  21. Gotta do the cam belt soon.... fuck my life, Will drag race it afterwards as motivation to get it done. Should actually go pretty good ive run it up to 200ks a few times on an air strip pulls like a train once it finds grip.
  22. So this has always had a slight tremble when cruising and would randomly drop boost down to 10psi. The only thing i could pin down as a fault was the temperature sensor which i replaced and made no difference at all 9 months ago. Found some motivation this week did oil filters and rewired temp sensor right back to ECU. Finally rock solid hits 22psi all the time no tremors oh and fixed an oil leak while i was in there. Pretty happy.
