  1. What kind of look are you going for? Te27 replica?
  2. Awesome!! looking forward to watching this develop. These are such an awesome shape!!
  3. Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/44320-jordons-1980-rg620-datsun/ so tonight... this happened obviously fixed the important rust and bits and pieces. took it for re check and wof man was pretty damn happy. So hello new daily!! Well side arrives in country this month
  4. Haha keeping the old diesel for a while yet. have to finish the corolla before i do anything serious with this
  5. dropped this off for a wof today... find out how it went tomorrow. Had to strip the indicator switch assembly and clean it out as it was cover in hair, grease and whose knows what. Got the rust patches done and smoothed out. and everything back together. Also took it for a wheel alignment which got the brakes better and it actually steers straight now. Also looking at different fuel options so looking for a spare engine and something kind of local, watch this space... EDIT: Meant to say looking for a diesel engine!! Preferably an SD series
  6. So at this stage i've decided not to go ahead with this as they haven't been able to get me a wheel base measurements and after looking at yours Sparkle i don't want to take the risk with something that doesn't have the original 620 shape. If they can get back to be with a wheelbase length i'll probably go ahead but have been waiting 2 weeks and nothing, quite dissapointing
  7. Actually no I havent, I'll pm him. I'm pretty sure it's the same company
  8. I drove past an old hilux is today and thought shit I could just use one of those wellsides
  9. Cheers man, actually that's the only thing I'm waiting on is measurements before it's 100%
  10. No more photos unfortunately and this is the only supplier API can use. I'm going to have to go ahead with it and make it work. Better than nothing
  11. i've asked for more photos. yeah at the end of the day its better than no wellside and we can make it work. would this get around cert regulations for wider wheels? staying within original body panels?
  12. Look at how its fabricated into the cab and bullets the length of the tray.
  13. if i had a choice i would go for the white style but they seem to be only making the green style now. Its photos from the manufacturer in Thailand... not sure why they sent such shit ones.
  14. yes i agree with that. not as nice as original but better that no wellside. I'm going through API, are there any other importers?
  15. So i have been in contact with the supplier the for well side and he has sent me some photos as they have made changed to the design. What are peoples opinion on the position of the tail lights and wheel arches/pumped guards? Need to make a decision asap so please discuss //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/44320-jordons-1980-rg620-datsun/
  16. Tried getting some more done on this last night. Got some rust cut out but discover more which i guess isn't a bad thing. Got one of the guys at work to make a patch while a couple of us bled the brakes and tried to balance them. It still pulls to the right so will adjust once more then investigate a bit more if that doesn't fix the problem. replaced castle nuts and split pins on the steering linkages. Cut and replaced tail pipe as it was next to non-existent. yet to chop it to length
  17. Would be awesome to have a look at it with those tridents. ill let you know when its wof'd. Yeah i'm 50/50 on the flares. Joe has some so will just have a look at what it looks like and decide... look at that dish! ^^
  18. Got the wellside on the way but forgot to ask about flares. Should be here in September so will be able to fit it before Xmas
  19. Here are a few photos Rocker cover and air filter before And after And i thought these were pretty cool and deserved to be on here Grill painted with painted Datsun badge and Nissan 50th Anniversary badge
  20. Managed to get quite a few small things done on this, mainly reassembling the interior and test driving, had to make a new shim for the adjusting bolt in the steering box. also the retaining clip that holds the shifting assembly in place was stuffed so that's been replaced. Painted some engine bits as they were starting to corrode. sorted some new guards and got them to welly thanks to cazza from here, dropped them to the acid dippers today. Looks like the well side should be here next month along with tail lights and new valance.
  21. So along with a well side i also wanted to look into wheel choices. I love Hayashi streets (thanks Joe/goat) and thought it would be awesome to run them on a 620. but damn they dont make them in 6 stud, oh wait they do!! http://www.hayashiracing.com/whee04sth/index.html But not for an affordable price, what do you guys think about running adaptors to 5 stud and running 5 stud streets?
  22. Cool its confirmed that next shipment leaves in 4 months and there will be a well side for a 620 that needs it (mine). i'm happy about this
  23. So progress is still slow, even slower after just having hip surgery. Been a bit slack on getting this wof'd so that's going to be a big goal for the next month or 2. Have found a well side overseas, it's a new replica item and is a pretty good price $1250 shipped into Auckland. Usually there's a bit of a fitment/condition issue with the older replica stuff but it's better than none at all or a rusted piece of shit I guess. So will look at getting that in the next few months once this is back on the road. After removing rust on drivers door Ive started removing the dash to get at some more rust on n the cab, only things left for wof is rust in cab and balance the brakes. Probably be worth looking at the exhaust to as that's starting to fall apart.
