A mate of my dad's worked at a Standard Triumph dealership back in the day. They also serviced Jaguars. He reckoned certain parts were interchangeable between the two but the genuine Jaguar parts cost four times as much the exact same thing in a Standard Triumph box.
speaking of which, mk3 mondeo shares some parts with jag x type. ridiculous thing is jag guys can get the shared parts but ford says no longer available. i think i bought a couple different stuff from independent jag parts people up north.

how much better is 156 over 155. had a great fun. surprisingly the only fault was dodgy fuel gage, one of the few cars i regret selling on. the only reason was i couldn't be bothered to do the cambelt every a couple of thousand km...

back on topic, w10 was (still is, if a tidy one can be found, im sure ) quite nice and handy wagon.
mine was non intercooled diesel.

maybe it's the hawera price.

I am looking for a manual p10 parts car if one comes up
that looks like a parts car (not sure if i'm convinced the seller's description of "but I know it's hard to find a p10 this tidy" though lol... but the price is ono.
the one thing i really hate about p10 is its power window switches, if you want to open/close all 4 at once, you gotta use both hands and left hand open wide with fingers stretched... otherwise it's fine.
i've been making a list of pros and cons list of all the cars i've owned so maybe i can build a perfect car (for me) one day, i gotta get back to that list.

Gah I don't want to diagnose something I just want to fit new parts and get on with my life.
how often does this happen. if i was a layman who don't know nothing about cars (pretty much true), what am i meant to do?

Grey is probably a better choice as keeping black paint clean is a full time job. Then there’s the swirls and scratches. It shows everything. Not a big deal if a garage queen though.
actually would say a black car kept in garage would be mint. A really deep glossy black with a bit of flake in it that shows when the sun hits it is mint.
now you mention it, it brings back the bad memory - it was called obsidian black pearlnor something. at first looked fine but more and more i looked at it, kept finding more swirls and scratches. nice enough 10 feet away.

what's so great about recaro? a genuine question.
-
that mitsi colour is pretty nice.
-
a bit too light for what im after but i do like that shade of grey too. i had some bike bits painted in Boeing BAC707 which came out beautifully.
-
I would like a shortlist of some nice black or dark grey ish shade paint to consider for repaint. I like Nissan BL0 (apparently this is blue but my brain doesnt see it) and to a lesser extent KH2.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.

I noticed NZ Autocar has an article on the petition, but it's really lazy journalism, basically quoting bits and pieces from the petition page and no interview with ella forrest or any further research into it.
one would think the petition organiser would drum up as much publicity, presenting herself to every opportunity, not just create a page and just sit back and do nothing.
this person had a good few days on the thread to respond to the differing views here but made no attempt to do so, before the thread got removed and i presume got banned at the same time.

the point i'm making is that judging something that is collectible or not is highly subjective. as someone was saying some cert guy hates "jap shit" and others can't stand "pommy shit" etc.
this forrest character who's driving this petition, which only managed to get just over 2600 signatures by the way, defines "A “collectible motor vehicle” is 30 years old or older with historic value, this includes a “vintage motor vehicle” as defined in Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2011 s3 (40 years or older)."
i'm pretty sure this definition of "historic value" will change over time or circumstances etc.
and why restrict the exemption to collectible vehicles - the fact that a vehicle is collectible has no bearing on its roadworthiness.

ok 6 monthly is a pain if you got a few, but it's supposed be a hobby, isn't it.
anyway i dont think 5 yearly wof for 30 year or no wof for 40 year or older is the answer. it would be nice to have my shitbox p10 to have 5 yearly wof, but no, im pretty sure it wouldnt be classified as "collectible" but then who's to judge what is collectible and what isn't.

plenty of p10 on FB marketplace. most you see on the road in decent shape seem to have nzppcc sticker on them, so i don't know they change hands within club.
