So who knows if the driveshaft spline from the w50 is the same as a w55/57/58?

So after Jappawagon told me that i was going to need a mid sump set up and spencer saying nah, just notch a rear sump. I decided to look into it myself. So at lunchtime today i shot up to a custom car workshop that alot of you will know to see a certain black 2jzgte powered ms65 sedan. I found a mid sump engine that had the back of the sump notched out. Shit. if a mid sump needs notching doesn't hold out much hope for me. I was talking shit... to myself.... yeah anyway when i got home and looked at mine i realised he was running a REAR sump. It just looked like it was kinda central. Anyway that gave me more confidence. Although i fully trust spencers input it's always nice to see it for yourself in person. so that said when i got home i played around with the engine. I think this will do just fine with a bit of a cut and tuck. I do however need a w57 or w58 gearbox. What i thought was a w55 is a w50 and of course will not fit. Shitsticles.

I'll probably just try eBay or such. I expected these sort of issues to crop up. The old man has a 140 maybe I should just pinch his And claim he had a bottom end failure

She's w50 so it won't last too long but should be ok to get running. Will look for a w57 before it goes for cert. It's a rear sump but I'm going to have to change it to a front I think. Will work it out when I get some mounts and mock up the chassis side. But I'm 99% sure the steerin. Going to hit on the rear sump.

Yes, so i bought this. It's going to be getting a supercharger bolted to it aswell. 2jzge+z But not untill it's in and running aye ash It also came with these and i removed this which left me with this Thankfully, that is not actually me. then i did this i know, should have done that first right? never the less today i spent some time with my favourite tool... The angle grinder Removed the holden engine mounts - Happiest day of my life. Shit, sorry, i'm tearing up a little..... Then assessed why the front left corner of the car has always sat a little off position Left Right See the difference? If not lets have a different look Left Right Anyway nothing my faithfull deadblow hammer couldn't solve. then i assessed the factory chassis engine mounts. Ofcourse. Some fucking prick put a holden motor in it which has the exhaust on the wrong side and in the wrong place. How did they fix that? Gas axe through the factory engine mounts........... Was never going to be much help in that state windows 7 screenshot thats better now i can actually utilise them when i start to fit the engine. Oh yeah i uncovered this too. So i will grab a bit of panel steel from work and repair it next weekend as i was just making matters worse my trying to fill it with the welder. And this is also the start of what is going to be a full respray, chssis, body, everything and the replacement of all the suspension bushes. Also i'm going to get some proper lowering springs custom made. The cutties are just too unsafe. And an lsd diff. plus a few other little goodies. Check back next week for more updates

If you want me to pm you exact details I can. But im sure you can figure it out. Just a couple of notes though. The vn alternator uses a standard Bosch injector plug. I took mine from a commy at pick a part. Also when hooking up a dash light use no more than a 2 watt bulb. And my ammeter doesnt work as it turns out so I will be trying to figure that out in the future. You must hook up a dash light. No light no charge.

Basically yeah. Just change pully over and rotate housing 90deg.The old alternator literally had the main power wire and then 2 wires which ran to a regulator. But the factory ammeter worked so I dont know how theyve run it. Im sure there must be a factory alternator light on the dash I just have to do some wire Tracing I guess.

Can anyone tell me if the alternator requires a charge warning lamp? If so does anyone know which wire is the charge lamp signal for the old crowns. Mine hasnt run since ive owned it. Its got a holdrn 186 and ive just fitted a vn 85 amp Bosch alternator.

Sounds like cam or crank sensor.

those cylinders are fucking expensive when compared to the bbq bottles hence why i want to use 9kg bottle. i've found an adaptor from 9kg to camping so that torch uterus listed will work sweet. I'm taking it from the responses that it will get hot enough for what i'm wanting to do?

Hey guys I have recently been setting up my garage with some gear and i want something that i can heat up metal with thats cheap and doesnt cost to have on hand if i'm not using it. I noticed Super cheat have some oxy acetylene kits on clearance and i was wondering if i would be able to use LPG only through the kit to heat up metal for bending / shaping or whether i would have to use oxy aswelll. I know you need oxy and LPG for welding but will it heat ok? The main thing i have in mind at the moment is i want heat and mould slightly my inner guards as my new tyres rub SLIGHTLY on the inside. (73 crown) so maybe 2-3mm thick panel steel.

i got mine from a wreckers here. $1 each. Factory toyota ones. Theyre obviously not new but if youre worrying about cost then i doubt you care.
