  1. Will this actually work? From past experiences i thought it took them an hour just to get all the pizzas out?
  2. can't do this myself but i am happy to help out for a day or so if we can get enough people to smash this out in a couple of days over the christmas period if that suits.
  3. hey guys, ive had a quick look but cant find what i'm after although i'm sure people have asked this before. My next door neighbours car got pink stickered because it's a piece of shit. I'm trying to help her get it legal cause shes a nice lady and told her to go for the check. it came back with a structural repair check sheet which only has provisions for a buisness to fill it out. I want to do the repairs for her being a qualified engineer i wouldnt have thought this would be a problem. Can anyone tell me if i'm allowd to do it? I found a complete download with the sheet and what looks like it would be a rear sheet (which the real one doesn't have) which basically says filling out the sheet is voluntary however that was dated as current in 97. link to that sheet for anyones interest: www.ecos.co.nz/images/pdf/wick/47565.pdf‎
  4. Helps heaps cheers man
  5. And they're probably the only ones that need to be invited
  6. Why not ask someone like k trips to pm the wellington region forum members that actually go to meets fairly reguarly and who he knows well enough to think it safe given the circumstances? I.e invite only and either group pm or something similar. Cause i see this as an epic reason to tidy up my shed somewhat to accomodate people And i'm keen to see peoples rides that we don't see at the meets and stuff. Obviously there's no garuntees but if we keep numbers down, trustworthy people only and no tag alongs it should be ok.
  7. Got pics of what the fronts look like?
  8. Just throwing it out thur, Mr India in Lower hutt/High st is THE SHIT as far as curry goes, good prices, beer, can sort big tables and at night time the entire street is quiet and we could line up the cars down the street + Mr india has about 10 parks for cars over 100mm of the ground/dont care about dented sumps etc.
  9. I'll be there tonight. Not keen on kk turning up for debt collection

  11. i would but somethings gone up the shit and i can't post images at the moment? i'm considering getting some 15x10s for the rear and know it's going to need a little massaging but also like to have the fronts the same as the rear.
  12. Hey guys, ive just spent a few hours looking through tech threads on the net about flaring wheel arches. my question is has anyone got any real world experiance with flaring wheel arches similar to the ms65 crowns. what i would like to do is take the factory flare and continue on the flare at the part where the it currently flattens out. i know you can do this on cars that have a smaller flat as described here: http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/10828-How-To-Flare-Guards and this is also the method i would like to try. just with the flat being so big on the crown i'm worried it wont flare out nicely and i will end up destroying my guard. what do you guys think?
  13. Hey guys About 8 months ago i sold a car i've wasted way too much money on in the past on and with a part of that money bought one of these: Same colour, everything. For those of you who don't know anything about it. It's a GN250 with a different look. Mine was built in 2001 so it's abit underage for this forum but it's the right style. Because i want to ride it lots and work on it less i wanted a newer bike. One day i will have a bsa sloper (dream bike) but at the moment its ideal. She has 5 gear things and a top speed of 120 down a hill with a tail wind. I had it for about a week and welded a straight pipe on and upped the carb jet. This now meant it had more acceleration and souds pretty ace. But it's fucking loud! A couple of weeks ago i got tired of riding it looking like it does and decided i was going to make it as cool as i could without spending any money. Just what i've got in the shed and what i pull of the bike. So now it looks like this: I would like to remind you this was all for fun. I think it took me about 6 hours to build. I haven't tried to certify it yet, no doubt it will need some shit done. I enjoy riding it alot more now though. It just feels more fun. I am going to get a set of bar end mirrors and a trumpet for the carby but otherwise i'm pretty happy with it. Actually looks better in real life. The only problem with the bike is that at 6'3 i look abit big for it: Don't worry. The stars been cleaned off
  14. You may have a 5m there. Not sure but Have a look here: http://users.tpg.com.au/users/loats/technical/mhistory/mhistory.html
  15. Dude nice job so far. I'm in the process of doing the same sort of thing. I've noticed alot of the bushes for the suspension don't have listings. Feel like sharing part numbers as you go through the process? I'm doing the engine conversion first so a little bit behind you with the chassis work.
  16. has been located in one piece minus all his tools and the chromes. Cheers to anyone looking out for it.
  17. This morning i went down to the garage. There was glass and a broken steering lock where my flatmates ute used to be. Theiving fucken bastards. Any how a couple of hours later i actually got into the garage I grabbed some 4" exhaust tubing from work. Then cut a hole in my sump cut some of the exhaust tubing up shaped it a little and then tacked it into place then shaped all the pieces properly and got it read for welding then welded it. Those of you with a keen eye will notice the poor quality tig welding. Please excuse it, i was using argo shield as a gas and it creates a very irratic arc. Not short of penetration though. And once it's cooled down a little i will test it for leaks and clean it up a little. Then it can go for acid dipping and powder coating on monday.
  18. Stolen from Hair street wainuiomata between 2 and 3am this morning. Ute is Matte Black With big chrome wheels and generally in fairly poor condition. The tray was full of tools for tile cutting and this will destroy my flatmate without it because this is his livelyhood. If you know ANYTHING please contact me by PM or phone 021574480 Thanks Matt Will get photos up asap.
  19. IIRC they also made the chassis rails 15mm further apart for that model crown. Also the ge engines arent the best looking things. But with a bit of paint it will look all good.
  20. Purchased a gearbox today. Either a w55 or w57. Will have it here for next weekend. Then will have a much better idea of exactly where everything's going to sit. Still wondering about whether I should get a new driveshaft made up or if the one I have Will do the job. Depending where the gearbox sits I may have to modify it anyway and if that's the case I'll just get a new one made up.
  21. I think this need to go lower
  22. Awesome cheers man. No I didn't grab pics but he only had the long block in there And said the twins were hitting the steering box.
