  1. Some progress on the escort. Note None of the panel work done here is mine didn't have a welder or skills just had cash
  2. Hey man escorts coming along nicely just wondering how wide your wheels are front & rear brendon
  3. Haha yeah mate You'd be surprised how "good" the floor looked before the grinder got in there, good enough to pass a warrant anyway
  4. Yeah good point ivé been thinking about what strengthening it's going to need. I'm mechanically minded but I'll be honest i do not know jack So will i need to get it seam welded, Gussets, Suspension Turrets, 2 link or 4 link kit etc (Will be looking at around 250hp) Will probably email Palmside and see if they have any suitable diffs, really want to keep the same PCD
  5. hey guys just after some advice on what would be a good set-up for the diff? able to take 250hp plus
  6. Yeah dunno yet. liking black but we'll see
  7. Removed all sound deadening & exposed all the rust, these photos were taken when the car still had a current wof. Yeah dunno how i got it Drivers Sill; Previous owner had a piece of straight metal welded in place of original. The curve was achieved by using 20mm + of bog Bought new panel from Palmside. Drivers pillar about to collapse on itself Drivers floor! was fun driving it like this especially if it started raining Spare wheel well Very very slight bubble revealed this These are only a few of the shots of affected areas, there was a few
  8. This is my 77' MK2 escort. Bought it from nelson in the summer of 2010 as is.
  9. Cheers for info guys. Yeah I'm trying to achieve a nice strong street engine at this stage. I am more inclined to just buy something and slap it on (need to learn to weld!). Unsure of the cams (were put in by previous owner) and compression. Those 105speed's you have look the biz, cars looking choice too. So did you buy those Cobys same as above, and they had to modifyed to pass your firewall? Have you noticed a notable difference in the 105speed's over the Cobys? Did those 105's cost you around $700 inc shipping?
  10. OK thanks for the info, do you know any headers that would be suitable. Should i possibly go down the road of custom extractors Heres a photo of the Mass Manifold. Something more like this? Can't find this product for sale anywhere though
  11. Hi Everyone I have a 77' MK2 2Door Escort It has a 1.6 Crossflow with Cams and Weber carb. I am trying to decide whats the best exhaust system for my car. Should i go 4-1, or 4-2-1. I understand that the 4-2-1 will give more low end/mid-range torque. With the 4-1 giving More mid/high end hp. What would be more suitable for the 1.6 litre? Also what would be a suitable diameter for the rest of the exhaust system Heres a few I've been looking at... ($255)COBY EXTRACTORS (unsure of specs) ($330)ASHLEY EXHAUST MANIFOLD: 2.25" BORE (4-1 TYPE, 1.625" PRIMARY, 2.25" EXIT) ($260)ASHLEY EXHAUST MANIFOLD: 2" BORE ( 4-2-1 TYPE, 1.375" PRIMARY, 1.5" SECONDARY, 2" EXIT) Then there is the Tony law Race exhaust manifold, but at round $900.00 is a bit out of my bracket. And the products from 105speed - don't have any info on these, heard they are good though *Also the Headers from Mass racing sound good and appear to be used on a lot of tuned crossflows, Some info on these would be great Thanks for any info!
  12. haven't tried yet, ...after thinking about pretty sure that's what to do
  13. A little confused, so you scrunch up some tin foil, tab in lemon juice and rub over? cheer
  14. Awsome work mate, escorts looking great! I find this real interesting as I have a "77 Mk2 Sport. Just got a few questions, with all that work getting your paint looking so good. What did you use? . I'm currently getting all the rust removed from my escort and considering getting a full re-spray but looking at your progress i might just put some labor into it. I''m also going to get a full exhaust system put in down here in Palmy at PitStop, would be cool to get an idea of how much it''ll cost. Also that sound-proffing insulation is a great idea, where did you purchase that from? Was it very effective? Keep it up Thanks brendon
