  1. Quick little update..
Bike WOF was approaching fast and I needed a few things..
    1. Indicators weren't E marked
    2. Tail light was integrated with indicators and not acceptable + the difference between tail and brake light was marginal and you'd argue very unsafe if you didn't have your wits about you/person behind didn't have their wits about them
    3. Rear tyre wasn't goneskies completely but I wanted to swap it out for a better quality one
    4. Rear brake pads were at a marginal level.. Would have needed to be replaced in 1000 kms so was a no brainer to swap out while tyre was getting changed.

I ordered some dome indicators and an orbit tail light from Purpose Built Moto.
Here is a reminder of how it looked before front  and rear

I wasn't sure on how to mount the new tail light because I need to make sure I can still get the rear hump off as it's got a seat under there for the little man so best option was to tuck the number plate up even further and run the tail light underneath. I also didn't want to run the indicators either side of the plate so grabbed some shock mounts for the new indicators.. Looks much cooler IMO

Happy days, really happy with the results. These have to be the brightest indicators i've ever seen.. Even in direct sunlight they're incredibly bright.
Tail light when on lights up the outer LED's like a halo and then the centre lights up about 20 LED's which are also blindingly bright..

Also while it was in the shop I had them set the suspension up for my weight. I felt the ride was too firm and I felt every little bump..
New tyre + adjusted suspension = whole new bike!
    Very happy.

  2. Spent some time here and there on the Thruxton over the last week

    New parts put on are
    Clip on handle bars
Triple tree clamp off an older model Thruxton, powdercoated gloss black
    front fork boots
    BCC Headlight brackets
Round mirrors (only had one mirror previously)

And then after I went for a shake down ride, I got home and my Motone Microblade aluminium screen turned up with a few bits of dress up bits. I couldnt resist putting the screen on but will get some proper pics when i've made some more changes

  3. If I brought a car that was stolen and recovered and then de registered from insurance company - would they have removed the VIN plate off the firewall?
Engine, chassis and plate number etc match up so i don't think it's too much of a dodgy situation but if that a major if it's missing for the re vin process or do they create a new one anyway?

  4. Watermark signs back at it again with producing the decals - This time a tail piece for the cowl, the lines and also the number

I also slapped on some yellow tint on the headlight.
It really irks me how I spend hours on polishing the headers to a mirror finish and after a 20 minute ride its back to dull..

Bugger.  Will add it to the things to do but probably won't anytime soon.

You could always just future proof and get yourself a braided steel line? (can get black if you don't want it to stick out)
I've had a few done from HEL in Auckland and usually get change out of a hundred bucks each line.. Good investment

Damn. Mum says it is a seat cover, not a seat.

Sorry, I should have read the auction properly before posting!
Jauce always has wrecked GB's for sale, it's just a matter of keeping an eye out for a whole seat

Trademe also does but yeah, like I said they go super fast
chuck a saved search on your trademe for gb400, gb500, gb400tt and gb500tt and get emailed daily of new auctions coming up
    You might get lucky!

Deets on who did the plate please. Also. Is the seat original or an aftermarket? I sifted back a bit but couldn't see so sorry if asked/answered before. I am looking for single seats for GB.  Loving the colour scheme on the tank.  Good work.  Cheers, Vaughan

    Hey mate,

Thanks appreciate the comment! I love the black plate. I've previous dicked around before painting a plate and sanding off the letters and it looked great from far.. but far from great.
No regrets doing it properly. It was made by a company called Doozi, operated by a member here - @Truenotch

RE the seat, it's an OEM seat (GB Single seat)
They're pretty "rare" in the sense that when they do come up for sale they get snapped up very very quickly.
I've seen some sell for $300 and some for $700.

If you've got the confidence to buy on a japanese auction site, i'd jump on www.jauce.com and pick one up there.. cheap
For example, this one is currently at 85 NZD and is in good nick
    https://www.jauce.com/auction/t750615408

Another example - this one is $255
    https://www.jauce.com/auction/t562728330

    Hope this helps!
