Highlux buys an AW11

So Keltic went to the auction of some olde barry hoarder type and purchased this fine automobile.

 

 

Then decided meh I dont actually want this and offered it to me at a price I couldnt refuse so I borrowed a trailer and bogan tow beast to retrieve it from the not always sunny Whakatane.

 

 

 

Got it home and assesed my bargain basment purchase

Engine supposedly has a BHG and had to be cracked in 5th gear because the bores were seized so prolly needs a bit of freeing up before trying to run it.

 

Invented a proprietry blend of MotorUP Xtreme whipped the spark plugs out and poured it down the bores.

 

 

 

 

It seems to turn over fine without any plugs but strain a bit with plugs in so it must a few compressions left in it?

 

Drained out the shitty old water mixed with oil concoction

Then I put the sump plug back in and poured a heap of diesel into the engine to flush out as much gunk as possible then drained into bucket again.

 

 

Disposed of the oil thoughfully

 

 

 

Thought shit its got spark and fuel and maybe some compression so lets try start it if I can find some oil. Didnt have any new bottles but did have a fresh change of dirty oil from a late model hilux, the 4age is already fucked so meh any oil will do.

 

 

 

Still wont start but coughs and splutters occasionally so everything needed to run is happening but maybe not in the right order, ran out of time tonight so will give it a comp test tomorrow to see what it reveals

Basically id like to get this going and remove as much weight as possible then use it for entry level motorsport like the autocross track at TECT park.

Duno anything about getting involved in such activities though so some pointers from those in the know would be great
