Popular Post beachlander
So some of you may have seen I sold my Z20 to Mitch. I was always going to sell it, and the plan was to import a XZ1X with the money, cause I didn't think one would show up in NZ. Then this popped up and I had to have it. Checked it out with the help of ANT and chees- when i flew down to Christchurch for the Hanmer meet and bought it on the spot. 6M powered, has had a manual conversion done, but the driveshaft needs shortening. Has had a full panel and paint, couldn't find any rust on it so am super stoked. Needs driveshaft and a few things done then will take it for a WOF.
Popular Post beachlander
Recently got a pair of 6J Mk3s widened to 9J by Pine Engineering. Was originally going to run them on my AA63 until I bought this. Whipped a spring out of the back today and tried one on. beachlander
So long time fuck all happening. Life/other car took all my money so not a lot has been happening to this. Buuuttttt It now moves. Haven't moved it far as it has no brakes but it does. Got my driveshaft lengthened and chucked it all in. There is a hell of a noise coming from the engine which i am praying is only lifters, I think the noise was amplified a bit by being inside the garage so will pull it out tomorrow and whip the cam covers off to have a look. Umm what else. Oh got another dash as my one wasn't coming up with the speedo, revs, fuel or temp as it is digital. I know the dash i got is good cause i saw it working but its still doing the same thing, so need to check some simple shit to see if its a fuse or earth, if not its off to a auto sparky. Painted the rear strips, only thing is they are really warped so they stick out but isn't a lot i can do about that, and all the other ones ive seen are rusted away so they will do for now. Am selling my Celica so will be using the BCs out of that in this, and have test fitted a 9j with tire on to see how much work i need to do to fit them, quite pleased to say not a lot. Am supposed to be taking this to Nats so am pushing it a bit haha Talk shit about my shit : //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/50314-beachlanders-mz12-discussion/
Popular Post beachlander
So I failed at Nats, which was pushing it anyway. Have since moved house and had to save for a japan trip so this sort of sat neglected. But Japan has given me a lot of motivation to drive it, so have started doing stuff when I find time/not working. Have pulled the head off to get looked over, new lifters etc. Can anyone recommend and engine shop in Auckland? North shore preferably but anywhere really. Also while I was in Japan, I visited Mizuno Works, which has always been a dream of mine. Went for a ride in this. 1GGE, ITB, Mizuno Manifold, pretty much amazing. But main reason i mentioned it is because I have wanted one of his steering wheels for ages, so got one, a horn button, and gear knob. Thats pretty much the interior sorted, maybe a few small things. Hopefully the next update is a bit better.
