From what I've read if they are not an LSD you can use a evo 3 diff or carrier in them. I've been looking at a Mitsubishi Libero GT CD5W diff. The size is about right. And so is the ratio . I don't think strength would be an issue, back in the day Liberos were quite popular for drag racing due to the solid rear end. I have heared rumours about swapping in Evo 3 parts into the Libero diff too.
