brads ae85 Trueno

Hi there

im Brad, live in chch, been a member for a while justs havent got around to posting my build.

 

So its a 1983 toyota sprinter trueno se (ae85)

 

in 2009 was looking for a new car / project. my criteria for my new car was, Japanese, 1990 or earlier, rwd, sportscar / coupe.

 

nearly bought a s30 260z fairlady 2+2 but needed alot of work even to get roadlegal let alone how i would want it.

 

a mate had this trueno in his back yard, hadnt been driven for around 4months, asked if he would be keen to sell it (not hopefull) and he said yes! got it for a steal too!

 

when i got it it was basic:

 

stock zenki body

silvertop 20v 4age conversion (rough as!)

k50 gearbox

drum brake rearend open diff

enkei mesh wheels 14x6

doby "lowering" springs

 

now has:

rebulit 20v 4age in 2011

ae101 radiator

K&N pod filter

custom plenum

tuned length stainless headers (possibly silk road brand)

heavy duty clutch

t50 gearbox conversion using all genuine ae86 parts. (cross member, pedal box ect)

TRD short shifter

custom one piece circle track eng. drive shaft with large universals

te71 disc brake rear end

TRD l.s.d

20mm alloy spacers

Wilwood 4pot front calipers custom laser cut brackets

znoelli slotted rotors

Cusco brake stopper

BC gold adjustable coilovers

rose jointed adjustable rear trailing arms

EX lancer front lower control arms (box braced)

t3 RCA's

front & rear strut braces

nolathane replacement of every bush

custom 2 1/2" exhaust, option of very quiet street option or shotgun style straight pipes
