Popular Post be4ver
Manual conversion is underway!   14x9 fits on the front easy!   Tidyed up my engine bay   Nah not really. hope and dreams!  Found the source of the leaking coolant though. Swollen and split where i done the hose clamp up too tight.    Also thought i had better replace the crank seal while I'm in here, and this other gasket too   The seal has apparently been superseded a couple times and is now a bit narrower than the original?? whatever, it still works. Well itbetter work   so clutch kit should be here in the next week or there abouts so it should be driveable again in no time!  according to back to the future it will be back on the road next year
be4ver
New shocks in   Tidied up the bumpstops that i chopped   New clutch arrived and is now in   Cleaned up the gearbox a bit and that's now in  and the driveshaft bolted in. It's awesome how everything goes together just how it is supposed to!    Inside is almost back together     Now to put it back on the ground and take it for a fresh new warrent!  Also someone buy these to fund me a new exhaust
be4ver
So i took this for a test drive in the weekend Was so good..... it's like a whole other car now!  Got it all ready for a wof   Then i noticed this.......   FUUUUUUUUCCCCK YOU!!  So, off came the driveshaft again. Out came the gearbox again. Off with the clutch again. Removed the flywheel again.   God dam main seal. Being so much smaller than the original one i pressed it on too far and it went past the sealing surface of the crank. So i fucked that getting it out and now i need another one, then i can put it back together.
be4ver
But in other better news.....  These showed up today from oz   So i quickly slotted this together with much excitement   The lips suit both my longchamps and starsharks so there is some options to contemplate   Will need guard work to get it sitting where i want it but the guards are already all janky so need attention either way     Sweet jesus on a stick!

Popular Post be4ver
I just realized its been the better part of a year since an update on this! i haven't done very much but i have done things.  Like this   Some aggressive guard rolling by yours truly has revealed a nasty bit of a repair on the drivers rear guard. Me being me picked and prodded at it and now it looks like that. That will be getting fixed early January!  also this happened..  https://www.instagram.com/p/82XYKKKZSl/?taken-by=be4ver  Flashing stuff is fun.  Got tyres for my 10s!!  Now running 14x9 -25 front and 14x10-25 rear. I will look at getting a lower profile tyre at some stage for the front but for now im pretty happy.    185 55s are a dam good fit on a 10" rim
Popular Post be4ver
MY GUARDS ARE FIXED!!!! Â Suffice to say I'm pretty happy about it. Guards where repaired with just 1 day to spare before a group of us riverside gang members were due to leave for Toyota fest down in Cromwell. So in one day and two late nights i managed to get the car legal enough to get a warrant and then low enough again to be cool. I would have liked to get the front down a bit more but virgin guards and stupid tyre profile would not allow it. Also ran out of time and patience. P.S rear guards arent finished yet either, still need a bit of careful shaping to get perfect and a proper paint as they are currently just in a white primer. Â After about a 800km round trip the car was still in one piece, despite all the tyre rubbing and chassis encounters with the road surface. Â Â Here is a bunch of pictures. Popular Post be4ver
After all the excitement of Toyota fest i came home with an all new enthusiasm for making this car better. So with a four day weekend wherein i have 2 days free i decided i should make this 1GGZE thing happen. So i did this... Â Â If you have ever attempted to install an engine on your own using a forklift you will know this was a real cunt of an asshole of a job. Removing the engine was easy but putting the other one in and trying to tweak it ever so slightly to get the gearbox to line up with the clutch etc was a god dam nightmare and there were many swear words. But hey! how rewarding right? Â Â Â Amazingly everything bolted straight up and all lined up beautifully! Swapped the clutch and flywheel over, the fuel lines with the fuel filter bolted up with some minor tweaking. The only things I've really had to modify are the heater hoses and radiator hoses which were pretty easy. They are located in basically the same place as on the other engine so I've just had to make them a little longer or a little shorter. Â Â Â I'm not real happy with the radiator hoses but they will do for now. (not bad for shit i had laying around) Â Â Â Now just the wiring to take care of! ....... lame! be4ver
Time to sort out the diff as one wheeling is getting old fast! A while ago i brought this F series Altezza torsen diff and now that a motorkahana is coming up i decided to do something about putting it in my car (4 days before hand)   All looks pretty good and it all fits in nicely but to set the backlash etc the whole thing will need to come out of the car to get done properly. Now i don't have time for such endeavours as that so i did what any good car enthusiast would do and welded the current diff the fuck up.   So with that back in it was time for some of this      Car went really well and the only issues i had were chronic under steer due to almost positive camber in the front still. Need to chop/roll my front guards! it only got hot one time too because i forgot to turn the fan on...oops  Here is a video of my least uncoordinated run.

Popular Post be4ver
Brought myself a decent welder so now I'm finally teaching myself to weld! woo! This has pretty much been my first real go at fabricating metal stuff. So suffice to say i made some hella average intercooler piping then proceeded to cut it all up and make it again, pretty happy with how its looking now. (after a lot of grinding) I still don't know how well this whole endeavour will pan out so I'm holding my breath. Next stop is relocating the thermostat and all the water lines....  more over sized pictures to come
