Backer101
Hey guys. Discussion: http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=34650 Had this escort just over a year now, should have started a thread ages ago for it but here's pictures of whats been happening so far. Bought it from some guy in Levin, 1 owner from new and 65000kms on it. Felt like a crime to change it. Didn't do a whole lot for the first 6 months. This year i have got stuck into it, slowly of course. Pics of when i first got it. (Bumper and door cards taken off just earlier) When i got it the guy said he didn't know if the back seats had ever been sat in. I then got a pinto for it, (the guy who had it may be on here, a crashed mk2) had a bit of head work, over sized valves (20 thou), ported and an fr32 cam regrind. Got a hilux LSD that had been narrowed, too much though which is a pain but I'm just going to widen it 1.5cm each side. Mocking up of some reversed 14's to see the low (3") Ready to be removed. Aaand out. Dad wanting to help, making room for radiator. and done some sanding and priming. Test for colour. Pinto makeover. My space, not bad. gravel floor though Type 9 Stripped inside although i'm not painting in there. Present form the grandparents. Straightened them up though. Painting the doors. Doing all the painting myself, come out good so far. Close up on colour, really nice shine to it. Grandad help me make up these from original struts. Painted under the bonnet. And door jams. Shit yea. Another shit yea moment, mate gave me these for quite the steal, 40mm mikuni solex. looking so nice. and painted cam cover black. New wheel. Got he chrome redone which was ridiculously expensive. but looks the shit. Got the engine running on the ground, hooked it up all bozo, was just too loud otherwise. Thats it for now, hopefully get some good stuff done this weekend. chur..

Apparently the wheel alignment people couldnt get the camber to 0 so i decided to make some of these at my work, which i wasnt fussed about because it meant even more post cert camber!!
