Looks much better, came up pretty straight. Stoked! Now just gota finish this panel and make my way around the rear to the panel on the otherside. Finished off the panel and started on the rear panel, found some more cancer around boot area Bare metaled parts Quick spray to prevent more cancer.. On the plus side.. Sussed more goodies off my gf's father Box of Weber carbs! Nd a few other items that may be useful oneday.. Me and Dirty Rei sussed heaps of parts out of a wrecked MK2 Van for $100! Heater Suspension nd Hubs Indicators,Seatbelts nd Window Wipers Made some mint non headrest seats out of the ones I originally had and the ones I got outa the parts car. (getting recovered) Washer bottle and nozzles! Stoked Ended up going halves with Dirty Rei on a over sized 1300cc race engine from some dodgy bloke up Kaitia ways, had been sitting for a few years.. Cheap as chips Giving it a quick clean Engine bay ready.. On the crane ready to go! Old man getting the last bolt in the engine mount Got it on a thursday afternoon and had it running within a few hours! Runs mint! Here's a lil shitty phone vid.. Just had to borrow my fuel pump, sandwich plate, starter, alternator and water pump off my engine I'm building! Plan to put it in Dirty Rei's car once I get my engine back from my gf's dad! hulse12 Posted January 9, 2013 Author Share Posted January 9, 2013 UPDATE! Had a sick holiday, havn't worked on the esky for fuuckn ages. Till today I thought I better get back into it haha.. Plans at this stage are... Sell Modgies.. Get wof.. Get it done.. Things to do for WOF.. On my list: Get brakes fixed/Front wheel bearings Weld on exhaust Cover rust up to make it look legitish for a wof Put in standard struts/shocks Remove blocks Put seatbelts in (get modified to suit my car as they are out of a van) Standard rims on Spray roof haha and a few more little things probly that will be added. Anyways, Did a little paint stripping on the RHR panel, came up pretty straight again with one little visable dent and shitty rust repairs Gave it a spray Got more parts from my girlfriends dad cause hes slowly cleaning out his shed nd finding more parts for me! Wires/Cables Rostyles and another meshy type. Know where to source the rest of the set or two of them I think.. Tempted even though they're 114.3.. Gona leave that till I've got it on the road anyways. One of these bad boys! Looks pretty cute when its looking all horey, got no clips for it though Definatly not having it on when the car's done though Blocks out on standard rims.. So ugly! Haha Engine... Brought a not so brand new water pump and fuel pump cause I borrowed the ones off the engine I'm building to get it going.. Also blocked up the heater pipe hole finally no more leaks out there (also got another for mine ) Gota fill the rad up tomrw and get it going see if everythings all tickety boo SEATBELTS.. Turning out to be a mish, gota un tread the bottoms, get a decent sewer to swap around the bottom mounts where the go under the retractable peices then they should be sweet! hulse12 Posted January 14, 2013 Author Share Posted January 14, 2013 Ended up modifying the bottom mounts of my seatbelts to fit under the van belts without hitting the floor. Talked to the cert guy he said it's allgood as long as he looks over it when he certs everything else of mine. Here's some pics. Finally.. Some guy came up to buy the modgies from aucks today.. Got up all early, got the tyres off rushed to meet him and then he doesn't even buy them cause of one little peice of rust on it... Time wasters these days! Sooo, gona order me x2 more 14x7's for the front and gona keep the two 14x6's unless they're useful to someone for a small amount of money, there's two centre caps for them also. Maybe even 4.. Pics without tyres, gona get 195/45 Falkens that are legal to be stretched onto 8's. Just gota find out where to get them with the papers. hulse12 Posted January 21, 2013 Author Share Posted January 21, 2013 Discovered a little leak from the water pump so I pulled it off to jam a gasket in there since I was too lazy to wait for a gasket to be shipped up and used that gasket goo red shit.. Pulled the thermo housing off while I was at it, nek minit no thermo haha.. Ended up getting two new thermos, one for my decent engine which I have just ordered new valves for and one for this engine.. Wacked it all together and were all waterproof now! Just gota tighten up my fan bolts now which means pull the rad back out again.. So much effort haha Anyway.. Went down to Kumeu on the weekend and came back with a few goodies!! Coilover springs.. Box of tools, cost me $30!! Crack free grill and rad surround that I scored off trademe but got the guy to bring to the swap meet.. Got home and sold these bad boy standys to a guy I met down there, got $300 outa him, he wants them for his trailor. So I am currently rimless, gota order some tyres since my cars back on axle stands! Haha On the plus side, sending away the master cylinder to get fixed up cause the threads are fucked out and leaking, so hopefully that will solve my no brake problems! That's all for now! Along with the other night I spend putting a few things together.. The other nights progess! Riveted my tags on! Window wipers on! Tidyed up around my seatbelts and put them through the carpet instead of behind! Rear number plate on! Blocks back in ready for rims and tyres! And painted leaves. Really needa rip diff housing out and paint/upgrade diff oneday! Todays work! Mr Panel Beater came around to fix up some patches and holes here and there haha.. First one RHF sill so the gaurd can be put on and not have to be removed! Primered with old peice cut out. Rear panel rust done and primered/painted. Guard on, Bonnet on, Doors on lined up! Grill chilling. In one peice for once Good way to end the day! Had three parcels dropped off by the couriers Set of struts with shocks etc. Oil temp plug, and new tyres! Ordered my 14x7's for the front, got them.. One of them was a 4x108! Then the other was a 4x114.3... FAIL Hopefully they will have send the 4x108 to the shop tomorrow and I will get tyres fitted etc! Found my brothers old car cover so claimed it Anddd decided I'ld take some pics of the engine getting built for the car. Got the water pump to go on, just a mish cause the guy before fucked the thread and I need to get another helicoil. The heads all ported etc. Ordered valves, just gota check it out and then order valve springs and put it all together. Then heavy duty clutch etc.. Maybe a balance too! Any suggestions? Hit me in the discussion! Last time I bled them it all ooooozed out of the master cylinder cause it had threaded itself. Since then I have got an adapter made up to suit with new threads. Currently, car is back on axle stands. Rear brakes were seized, now have been un-sized. But one problem was found.. Leaking seals! So now I've ordered another one of these bad boys. Went to bleed the brakes when drip drip drip more fuckn leaks. Ended up having to get another T and brake nipple. Turned into such a mish! Got those parts and put it all together tonight! Finally got brakes all bled and work a charm! Also did abit more bare metaling! Plan to get the roof done and all the other little places I havn't done when the rain stops. Planning to get the front and rear windows taken out to make sure theres no rust. Gona get a full new rubber kit too. Anywhere to get them cheap? Here's the new to do list. Gave it a lick of paint and put it's rocker cover on, not too sure if I wana use it or not.. Thoughts? Still gota sort out helicoil to put on waterpump, its being a right royal cunt.. Engines pretty much ready to go in.. Needa put a few more things on, exhange the clutch off the other one.. Etc Pulled the 1300 out of the escort! Engines chilling on its stand with all its parts around it waiting to be put together and that cunty helicoil to sort itself out! Clutch ready.. Engine bay ready.. And got me a cute little key ring and some tyre valve caps.. hulse12 Posted February 11, 2013 Author Share Posted February 11, 2013 Ended up getting a full set of bolt on adapters 4x110 to 4x114.3 in exhange for some heatwrap from the bro Cholo. Ended up giving them a little machine out to fit the 4x108. Chucked on the meshies. They still dont even look wide enough with the 25mm spaced out! Still liking the look, gona try track down a set or just two at some stage after paint. Picked up some mounts for my fuel line to replace the cable ties.. Put em in Started stripping everything out slowly so I can just roll into panel work whenever. Gona get windows taken out and stuff after I have a blast with my new engine. Sheds got shit everywhere once again.. And gave some 14x8 tridents a polish n paint up for my gfs old man for doing my engine. Need to sus x2 bolt in centre caps if anyone has any? And hopefully his brother will find some more. His little brother also told me he knew it was real rusty ha ha ha Today went down to get some motivation.. Ended up doing the front hubs up, then smashed the rear window... Then found some great stuff! Happy that the windows out.. But not happy I have to buy another + sort out this.. Brought a set of new tail light lens's and a set of complete tail lights. Look to be brand new? Got to work with the middy.. New seats, pretty mint. Only a little rip in the passenger side. Car's all stripped out to go to panel shop + got front windscreen taken out also.. No rust wooo.. Ford button in the nardi.. Waiting for there to be room at the panel beaters then it'l be heading off. Sold x2 14x6 and x2 14x7 modgies, gona get some brand new ones for the rear now since I've got a new pair on the front.
