Hi Guys

Calling all TA63/AA63 Carina Owners

This was my first cert and an ok experience. Failed on a few things , most i can fix myself but need help with this one:

Rear upper seat belt Anchorage , Fit new seat belt Anchorage with complying anchorage plates. They think that i only had lap seat belts and that it was changed to lap sash seat belts after factory. I have had 3 Carina Ta63 Sedan and all had the lap sash seat belts. Can someone explain please :? Or if anyone has a TA63/AA63 Sedan Carina can they please take a photo under the rear parcel tray and see what the seat belt mount look like.

Everything else i have under control :)

Car is a 1982 Carina Ta63 4 door Sedan

I did car compliance in the mid-late 90's and most cars with lap only, had rear lap/diagonal belts fitted at the time of import due to regulations at that time.(most you couldn't tell they were after market)

Would pay to go to the compliance person and ask for their specific requirements, sometimes its as simple as bolting thick plates under/over the upper anchorage in the rear parcel shelf. If you have to, go to a seat belt specialist and get it sorted, my view is that safety items shouldn't be things you look to do cheap fixes on.

quick search

Toyota parts diagram only shows lap belts for the Japanese 81-88 TA63's

Euro versions had rear lap/diagonal ones fitted from factory (look to go to the c-pillar)

Thank SleekToy , was not planning on a cheap fix. Just wanted to know what other Carina owners had and you have answered the question very well :) Might head to AutoBelts and see what Francis can do for me.
