blekkja
I recently picked up a Aussie Spec Marina Estate to use as a donor car for my Brother's 10 CWT Ute. Which is awesome - it has good panels, interior, disc brakes and an OHC motor. Problem is that it is Automatic. We would want a 5 speed anyway so I'm not too concerned as long as it is easy to convert. Anybody have a suggestion to which box would be best? I know that just getting a whole Toyota or Datsun setup, etc, would be a lot easier, but having Morris on the tappet cover makes life easier at the garage - and the O Series isn't a bad little engine (Got a bit of pep even with the auto). I do like the idea of staying within the marque rather than just chucking something modern in too. It feels more authentic. Secondly: Lowering / Handling. Given that it is just a Morrie Thou in a box shaped body this needs to be rectified. Will the relevant early Nissan/Datsun parts bolt in nicely? Cheers, Reuben. blekkja
Wow: Somebody bothered to make an actual kit up for this? Insane. I thought my appreciation of old Marina stuff was pretty abnormal. Cheers.
