NicT
Project discussion http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 18&t=26266 Dirty little notchback i picked up in exchange for my 1uz Crown. 4age (bigport, factory 86 motor) Coby headers (poo) Niteparts 4a-W55 Bell W55 Gearbox Hilux Shortened Diff (factory sloppy LSD) HKS Adjustable heignt/dampening suspension TRD Rear springs Monroe Hilux shocks Facelift front bumper/TRD Lip Copy Wheels are borrowed Mean MEAAAAN little car. Absolutely in love. Took the sideskids off, repainted the front bumper black, repainted factory rear bumper which i intend to fit when the weather isnt so terrible. Body is in pretty rough condition asthetically, but rust looks like its been repaired then repainted in por15. Clutch is absolutely poked, but i deal with it. So happy. Will have driving photos after 12th of march from hampton downs.

NicT
Some more pictures for you. How i got the car Money Shot How she looks at the moment Desperate to get this back in the car before saturday Wheels i tried to fit but tires are too big they rub on the guards... 70mm bigger diametre then the wheel/tire combo that came off it. Sucks mega. Just need to stop being cheap and buy some R55's Got a GZE flywheel from my mate. Super stoked. Got it machined. Waiting to get pressure plate and clutch plate then fit back to car. Flywheel that came out was 200mm contact surface flywheel. that was slipping bad. I got this remachined and i was going to reuse but GZE came up and i think its a better option. Also refitted factory rear bumper and found they who ever painted it didnt bother to paint under the factory bumper so its still silver.. NicT
GarageH drift day. Did some skids, got real wet, had an awesome time and towed a sweet as mx5 out of the gravel. Had a blast, learnt a SHITLOAD. Blew my diff, understeered heaps, and realised my handbrake doesnt actually work. But learnt to clutch kick and slide good. Stoked it rained at the end of the day as diff became a single spinner at lunchtime which made dry sliding unachivable. To do list, - Diff - Swaybar - 6kg/mm rear springs, 8kg/mm front springs - Front caster - Next drift day on Was going to do engine upgrades but i have decided i dont need more power yet, still have more handling issues to sort. Also bought microsquirt for future upgrades, may install and tune it over the next week or so.
NicT
I feel theres a lack of pictures to do with progress and building of the car, as opposed to me thrashing it. So here you go. some artwork i started. Flipped centers, car needs more low now i have new Grid II 185/50/15's just a touch of stretch Dreams are free, and so were these in exchange for a small wiring job This wasnt free, but its damn good. Waiting on some high impedence injectors i can swap in and then ill start messing with the tune and get the car purring factory before i start making mods. 'My diff brings all the boys to the yard, damn right its bigger then yours' Rebuilt Hilux, new clutch packs, high center spring rate, new shims, heres hoping shes nice and tight actually had a nightmare last night that the diff in my car was actually a T eries, and i had bought this G series invein. LCA that got owned same time as the guard by last owner. Replacement Oooooold school HKS adjustables with 1 piece cast in stub axle. These would have cost moonbeams in the day. Lucky for me it takes KYB AE92 inserts. So it currently has 8 way dampening adustable ones. TechnoSpirit Copy headers. I think these are made by wolf mufflers. Awesome headers had a set on my last car My last engine, in my last AE, it was an animal with very little mods. My old car, i miss it So plan still sticks as last posted. Fit diff this weekend (if my broncitus lets up), oil change, lower, caster adjustment, wheel alignment then more skids in july! After that, then its megasquirt, tune, fabricate quad adaptor, fit my techno tuning copy headers, then wait for more skid days. Hopefully after that start saving for cams, smallport head, and maybe start collecting parts and fabricating 2" stainless exhaust.
NicT
So after weeks of talking in KPR's ear, he sold me the head off his KP starlet, with cams. Some flanges laser cut Mean as race table. That is all. More to come soon
NicT
It Begins, Saw my mate Doug after work to give his car a look over to find a misfire. Took it for a drive and found no problems. Gutted for him. This was the second car in my long history of cars i have ever wired up. 3 1/2 years old and still going strong! doing my shiz at the inlaws as they are in germany for 6 weeks. Stoked as. This is how she looked Saturday arvo Bottom end is in awesome condition, freashly honed bores, and within factory tolerence piston slop (practically none) Turns over amazing. So go to this stage and reoil bores so they wouldnt rust out. Slapped rocker covers on so dust/shit doesnt get in my smallport head i am dummying up Intake manifold beginings Tacced up and test fitted. Had to go for a straight manifold as my aftermarket clutch master is in the way and a lot lower then factory (barstard) The offending clutch master So one weekend down. Need to finish weld manifold (will do tomorrow night), then look at this exhaust manifold.

Good or bad points to this? Broke microswitch on welder, had to bust out the soldering iron to fix mmm yea Test fit Also completely welded up my intake manifold, that took a couple house last night, with some minor hammer adjustment to make it straight again. Will put up some more detailed pictures when the misses figures out how to use the Nikkon. Chur

NicT
Odd weekend, didnt get as much done as i hoped but still chugging away. Had to recut and remount exhaust due to some mods i made to the headers now put the exhaust in a different way. Then spent all friday night and saturday day teaching myself how to do cam timing, taking the head on and off 3 times before finally assembling the engine. When to fit new cambelt and discovered its wrong. Good work BNT. Was going to go check out some skid action at meremere but lucked out when the mighty stageae broke down. Had to spend a couple hours fixing that. No photos cause its more of the same
