radman
Hi all, Just picked this up today. Probaly payed a little bit more for it than i should have but still got the guy down from a stupidly excessive asking price in my opinion anyway. Its a 1 owner from new jobby, 1600cc 4 speed column shift and appears to next to no rust. Plans at this stage to drive as is for a little bit, aventually get some nicer wider steel rims better tires, lowered a bit and possibly narrow the tray a bit so its all a uniform width the length of the vehicle. Possibly upgrade the engine in a few years to 2 litre or somthing like that but for now i'm happy with it...even the pumping AM sounds... radman
Small update. Got sick of the oil leek but didn't have time to fix it myself so took it into mechanic down the road. According to the guy that worked on it it was leaking from a cam seal and its also leaking from the head-gasket. Got the cam seal replaced. Not bothering about the head-gasket will just have to keep a 4l of oil behind the rear seat and keep topping it up. Hopefully the new cam seal will slow down the leak a bit. Will be very slowly gathering the parts required to chuck in a 4g63 over the next few months.
radman
Have won these on Trademe.....Will see how they fit/look and suss out some new tyres and go from there. Got the set for $83 so if they dont fit or look like i imagine ill move them on its no big deal. If they do fit and look good enough i'll pollish them up and repaint them. Was thinking of running 185/60/15 tires...any other better ideas/advice? My brothers 89 l200 has given up the ghost so im claiming the 5 speed box and new cluthc etc from that in the next few weeks, now all i need to do is locate a decent enough 2 litre to drop in and maybe lower it (pending how these wheels look) and i should be set for a while.
