NaN
Does anyone have any experience with this ? I went to install the hubs and found the bearing sizes are different, the Zepher ones dont find the capri stub, and the capri bearings are to small for the zepher hub. Does anyone know the right bearing code ?
crazy_rich
I got some mk2 zephyr hubs on a capri stub using the capri inner race in the zephyr outer race. Timken bearings are mix and match, I don't know part numbers for a set that would work out of the box.
Gaz
Capri stubs have two sizes. I have 4 capri struts and my 4x114.3 escort hubs fit on one set but not the other. I am not sure if the outer is the same diameter making them interchangable. Let me know if they are. Gaz
crazy_rich
yeah early v6 capri stub axles are a larger diameter, I have no experience with them but have heard they are a pain to get bearings for. They're identifiable by having the disks bolt through the face of the hub instead of behind like a normal escort/ cortina etc.
NaN
sounds like I have the earlier kind here. I'll take some photos, and measurements in the next few days.
NaN
This is the solution, for fit the mk3 zepher hub to the early capri struts. cost = $197+GST, they have to be special ordered.
NaN
Having the hubs machined to accept the cup for the outer bearing is worth $100 if you include having the cups for inner and outer pressed in at the same time.
