Stacov Posted December 27, 2009 Share Posted December 27, 2009 Hey need some ideas what may cause this just finished rebuilding the head now sparkplug 3 and 4 werent burning at all werent even hot. going to recheck valve settings tomorrow and leads etc.. but yeah just want some ideas what may be wrong and things i could try. Stacov Posted December 27, 2009 Author Share Posted December 27, 2009 leads were newish from old motor will put some other ones on tomorrow just recheckd the valve cleanaces some were out abit so fixed that, theres good compression on all the cylinders put another 2 spark plugs in 3 and 4. 4 didnt burn at all and 3 kinda did, Could the dizzy timing be out ? QCADTA Posted December 28, 2009 Share Posted December 28, 2009 as above. if youve got fuel and spark on all four cylinders it would be pointing towards timing. not something silly like a couple of leads the wrong way round? also what carbs are ya runnin? not twin side draughts or just one carb? Stacov Posted December 28, 2009 Author Share Posted December 28, 2009 thanks for the replys finally fixed it dizzy timing was 180 degrees out had a local guy come around hes a old school mechanic fixed it in 5 minutes he double checkd my timing everything else was bang on, he told me to put it back together and said see u driving past soon he didnt even wait to see if it was going to start he knew it would be sweet lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
