cute wee gem
"I'll just find a totally boring daily driver that I won't spend any time and money on, so I can get the TX off the road for the conversion" Yeah right.. Anyway, here's the new PF50 of doom/rust. I picked this shitter up for $305. It has epically rusty doors but the rest is fairly sweet. It was complete when I got it. I'll use parts from my old white TE to get it up to scratch.
cute wee gem
Starting with the dinged up passengers front guard, I chopped the average condition bottom off and sand blasted it, then welded it to the rusted out white guard.
cute wee gem
Cut all rust out of passenger side sill today, didn't take many photos cause you've all seen it before. Ready to seal and bolt the guards back on soon. Broke the sand blaster too, should be able to find a fitting from somewhere tomorrow I hope. cute wee gem
Found a fitting for the sandblaster and did a bit of work today. There's only a couple of little rust holes left to fix in the drivers side sill then I can get onto some panel work.
cute wee gem
Been working on this after work and on weekends since last update. This car was a mess with rust everywhere, but is slowly coming together. Just got some 17x7 +20 wheels which are pretty average and some king springs
cute wee gem
Splashed some colour on after work today. Actual body is a month or so away away from paint. Not bad for a $55 base coat (for 5L) + some left over clear
cute wee gem
Cleaned, paint striped, cleaned and painted engine today, then threw it in this afternoon. Still need to hook everything up it's just sitting on the mounts at the moment, and a few pieces need painting still. (ran out)
cute wee gem
King springs + wheels, looks a bit better but pretty average still. Might paint the spokes yet, ideas?
cute wee gem
Splashed some colour on it on sunday. Spent all night on it after work today, all un masked and got the whole rear end cleaned and polished and some other little bits fixed up. Ready to get into the doors, bonnet, boot and fuel flap when I get my new sander in a few days as the old one decided to give up.
cute wee gem
Boot done. Rear doors and front valance done. Just need to fix up the fuel flap hinges then that can also be put on. Polished all trims, cleaned windows and cleaned out the interior, which all took ages. Interior looks a bit better with the new colour, too. Onto the front doors and bonnet tonight, should be painted by the end of the week, all going to plan.
