Leebo3
Disco fred viewtopic.php?f=18&t=17206&st=0&sk=t&sd=a But here is my latest purchase. Its a 1951 Ford Victoria Coupe. Its a step up luxury wise from what we call a twin spinner. Has a 289 Windsor which is a nice little runner for it. Plans - pretty keen on a manual box with gear stick a meter high. Sack it, but I hear they suffer from bump steer cronic, so will see what happens. And get the lake pipes hooked up. So yeah, my new piece of Nostalgia, now I can dress up like elvis and be the King. Guess you either love this car or hate it, one of those shapes. Dont worry, I am not leaving Wagoneers Inc. W
Leebo3
The GC that I got the car off chucked this in too I put some hitachi designed springs in the front, but now its on bumps Going to pop some moon gauges in at some stage, with black/white? background. Leebo3
Well well well, after the lushness of the hop last weekend thought I would post up some stz. Thanks to those that joined in, and extra to Tom testy for his hospitality on Wed night. Got some pinstriping done and also got the passenger side lake pipe hooked up. Sounded like a harley with the caps off which was rofl. i have spaced both side lake pipes out so they arent hiden away under the sills. One is bit out of wack which I will have to adjust sometime. And its not changing gears properly for some reason now, oil is all gee, might have a squizz at the kickdown see if thats doing anything. A week after I got the striping done, my dad closed the garage door on the boot. Kinda lol/could have been way worse.

Leebo3
Right, so. Havnt had a warrent since the 10th of May. Failed on heaps of shiz, worst of it 2 tie rods which for one of them is part of the whole drag link arm, so not just removeable. I rung the NZ old ford guys a month ago and asked if they have one, they said "yeah na only a right side one sorry mate" so have been looking everywhere else for one with no luck. Then I talked to a guy on Saturday and he said that they are the same! So I will ring that place tomorrow first thing, hopefully they still have it, get it here Tuesday, driving Wed so I can get a woof for next weekend, must absolutly take this to the Rotorua Swap. Took lake pipe off cos it was wobbly as poos, got to come up with a sweet way to mount the buggers. Warrant dude wasnt happy with this, reckoned that it would snap if you were to crank it up more. I added the blocks but the bolt was the same when the car got Vin'd so yeah. Thank maybe hack the mount over and re-weld it in so it lines up properly. Just cos the diff is from a mustang so wrong width.
Leebo3
Hi Hi Many moons ago, my spat fell off, I was a little bit guttered, fair dnkum got pancaked. Took it to one panel beater and he said $500ish to fix it! Was not keen. So in the US, I spent up large, and got 2 brand new spats for $125USD. Just bought them back with me on the plane so that worked out all sweet. So from when that happened, I have been rolling one spat on, one off. Not really sure what I prefer. Thoughts? Also got diff front wheels, one had bullets, other the hubbies the car came with. Get rid of red wheels too? Also got this, I was originally after a 3x2 intake, but could not find any, so nabbed this. Long term project, got the IDF's over there too, $200 for 2. Or I could hit 8 strombergs?, like what the factory 250 in the falcon had, I think they are similar bolt pattern. And with thanks to torton, and Spence for delivery, I now own this. Width was not an issue, just split her up the centre, its just sitting there atm, will have to work out the exact placement/angles. Thank it suits? Will get it painted same colour fo sho And a cool pic to end it
Leebo3
Hi. About time I got onto this cos its a must for cars of this era and you need it to pull bishes. My bro saw it and said "why dont you get a skull instead" I got my mate making a proper nice looking one now, this one is just for shape etc. I took the air con unit and silly switch panel out to make this bit more easy. Will put the switches back to factory stz. Disco viewtopic.php?f=18&t=17206&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
Leebo3
Ok Ok, with so much thanks to the great angel within, also known as Spencer, I have slightly changed the look of this puppy. He hooked me up with his old white walls off the criz wags, I gave the wheels a quick splose of black and fired them on. Was also a team decision to lose the spats for a while, change shiz a bit. Removed the caps too for max fun Lenny rolled along to the toy run with us last week, this is a bit like what CDL looked like afterwards lolwat And as most know the car was featured in NZ Rodder in August, managed to make the centerfold and cover which flipped me out Oh yeah I can drive again too. Leebo3
Righty ho batman, the old girl has been going well all year, brakes have been bit away in the clouds but that will be fixed next year I hope, have on order a disc brake conversion. All 'bolt on'. Had a bit of a poo on the way to Kumeu this year, smashed the road on the Napier Taupo where a gay little bridge is, didnt think anything of it at the time. Turns out it was the steering bracket that took the hit, therefore putting my alignment out and eating a pair of whitewalls So the WOF ran out a few months ago so I thought I should do some work, motor had been getting a bit smokey and didnt quite have the go like it used to. So that is currently out and semi apart. No. 7 is the worse, surface looks like the moon with lots of little dents etc, head is all gunked up too. Engine has already been bored to 40 thou, so if need be can go to 60 but thats it. Will take it into the pros and see what they say. Really want everything in and sorted for beach hop I do I do. Took the rears off the wagon and plonked them on the front, didnt look to bad. Few months ago I splashed out on some new whites, were a decent price so I went all out and got the wheels powder coated too. See how stuff goes in the new year, for the time being I might chuck a coat on the engine bay to tidy that up, hopefully engine isnt tooooo bad. SHould just get 351s all round for the ladies. Happy New Years you bunch of turkeys, Lee
Leebo3
Bum hole. So I ended up pur chasing another 289 off trademe that was in Hastings. Took my engine into the rebuilders and both heads were quite tonked and the block needed work. And I am low on time. So swapped a guy some locks pretty much for the engine. Tis a 302 block with 289 internals and 351 cam. You do the math. Today I started it up. That local good guy bogan everyone has came and painted my engine bay too. Thanks JasonK Another good looking chap was bored for the weekend so he came down and play nuts and bolts. Thanks Escorta... Flipping in yo Chucked me new wheels on too, looks heaps lots high atm. Took it round the block today, needs a tune and to put a few miles on before I leave for the hop next wed but going well everything will be fine. Thank god its mostly done done
Leebo3
Long story short, Palmy Swap Mate got tweaked yarned to gasserkiwi asked him if he could buzz me up a metal flake roof for the old girl he said flip yeah lets do it, so en route back to heaven I mean Napier dropped the 5I off to him in DVirke, week later the creation was done. Kinda hard to see in the photos, but it looks oh so cool. Went with a blue flake, proper old stz from the 60's. Still waiting on my disc brakes that I ordered and bloody paid for the week after Hawkes Boes last year. Warrent time soon too, so I better fix all the annoying exhaust leaks. Over and out. Popular Post Guest Leebo3
Wow wee lookie here. So the GC that built this engine replaced and fixed everything for free, reckons the reason shit hit the tits was because of non hardened push rods. So will roll with it and see how this goes. Popped the visor on finally, matty bee it to start with then got gasserkiwi to paint and flake it to match the roof. When I get round to it might fiddle with a bit lesser of an angle, just where it is now makes it heaps easy to mount etc. Matte Black Caps off, shit semi packed, mustang to the hop tomorrow, no skids ok.
Popular Post Leebo3
Almost 2 years to the day since an update which is not much of an update jeah. Had disc brakes put on the front a wee while ago, and had fixed that shit box ground smashing steering that eats tyres and is dumb. I flipped and swapped front spindles in it. But it makes the spindle below the rim which aint ideal. So will just leave it sittung like this in the shed for a year or two. And put some more paving stones in the boot to drop that some more. I purchased accuair air ride gear while in the states too, so might throw that at it one day. Kind Regards
