.. yes its taken me fucken ages to do anything and post pictures up, here's some for starters..

G161z (thats 1600), and '4 on the floor'

20080704163457yx4.jpg

Here it is pretty much standard, apart from front chin spoiler - made from 1988 Mazda Capella.. Which has been somewhat narrowed and then "plastic welded" - Aka Soldering Iron and lotsa sanding

Then I scored a set of these of a dude with a Racing Firenza, Ironically I gave away my previous set of rostyles to Prozac, a couple of months before I bought the car..

project1wn4.jpg

These rocked around the boot of my car for ooh I dunno, 6 months..

Finally got arse into gear and went to Elite Wheels, "3-5days" 2& 1/2 weeks later came back 13x7" Which were then promptly delivered to Action Powder coaters (aka another bunch of good Mrs Funt'maRunts)

20080831142127aj9.jpg

Here they are just before I painted the black outs..

Gots me a Drivers mirror, and some "fresher" sunvisors that actually work - Cheers Gaz/Gaz's Missus, and Burntrubber got some Window Winders that arent broken lol

More to come..

So, As some of you may know I've had the wagon off the road for awhile now, Has been fully rebuilt thanks to pete (valiant) for sorting a engine rebuild out, and helping tremendously with getting it all back and running properly..

Old radiator was rooted so for a little more than a cost of recoring my old one, I decided to buy a alloy triple core instead. Also Took the opportunity to chrome the rocker cover whilst it wasnt in use..

So, I sold this along with a couple other cars I had (later regretted both decisions) to buy my first house.

38542_1277823040429_7302421_n_zps96fd927

New owner gave it a respray with quite poor prep work, purple tints, and gay steering wheel. Removed steelies. He had it in a workshop when it was stolen, and crashed in the centre of town. Bought it back through turners auctions for a little more than I had hoped - but at least I have it back. Brother towed it home with his girlfriend whilst I was at work, said it was the worst drive - upon getting home discovered the wheels had wrong sized centrebores on the front so werent fitting properly, and the rear had the wrong offset and were rubbing on the inner guards!

Basically the car needs a drivers door, new front clip. Before I sold the gemini in the first place I had originally intended on converting the front to early model - by chance a TX Coupe was rear ended in chch, so I took the whole front off it and removed the diff & engine for them. Front guards were full of bog so I had decided to leave them - hindsight I probably should've taken them.

Unfortunately the car is deregistered by insurance, so will have to re-vin, not too much of a drama really though. Previous owner sold the Dellorto's & inlet manifold after I told him I'd buy them off him - so will have to sort something else out.

I have 2x bumpers, slam panel, grill, radiator support panel (need to drill out all the original spot welds), bonnet, indicators, lights etc etc.

I also bought one very rusty Twincam Piazza - mainly for the motor as a spare for my Chevette, but for the front brake upgrade for the gemini, and decided I'd give the disc brake rear end swap a go as well.

Firstly the Panhard mounts are on the wrong side for a gemini, so chopped that off and rewelded on.

Secondly the trailing arm mounts are 17mm spaced further out, so plasma cut those off, and after alot of measuring, remeasuring I rewelded them on.

Ive also used the original Gemini Torque tube, bolts straight up to the Piazza Diff (interesting given these are Borg Warner items). Has the same bolt pattern, same splines as the gemini diff, same seal diameter everything!

Unfortunately the diff was missing the brake lines as well as the calipers & discs. However as luck would have it, I kept all those bits apart from the lines from the blown twincam diff for the chevette.

Also bought some Wat's ex Japan, 14" not very wide, but with the increased track width from the diff they will fit fine. Still need to get them blasted and painted. - These will also be the wheels I will use for cert on the Chevette...

So After scoring a pair of usable but rotten front guards. I bought myself a spot weld drill kit..
Started with the TX front I had. Then onto the TF front on the car..

Had to trim the rails a little because of the curvature of the TX Valence - unlike the TG where it unbolts this is welded to the car. Still lots of work to go, as I only sat everything on for the photo. Have bought a small supply of flapper discs, cutting discs, primer, fish oil etc. Will get the front sand blasted before I weld it on I think?

Made a adjustible Panhard Rod up:

Purchased a Lynx manifold with Webber 45 sidedraught..

Front end is welded on now, just gotta do some grinding behind the panel to tidy it up a little.

Also purchased some 944 Seats off trademe, welded some tabs onto them, then cleaned up my rails - etch primered and then Black Zinc coated the lot. Bolted them in the car just to be sure. Will buy some Recaro or Bride cloth for the inserts down the track...

Bolted my wheels on too... Rear track increase is nice with the Piazza diff too...

So this turned up from Japan, 4 days after paying for it, arrived at work..

PF60 ZZ/R LSD (43 Tooth for the record)

Plan is to use the Crown wheel currently fitted to the "Piazza" diff thats fitted in the wagon.. When I have some time off I'll pull the axles and see if I can actually swap them in or not..

Take Chevette Guards (once again thanks Zebra Dude & Threeonthetree for sourcing these!!), mark them out, re measure..

10417787_10203107005990787_4350797973353
Do the same on the gemini guards - note the rust the top corners and bottom corners, plus the amount of bog...

19104_10203107006590802_3375763962646986
Drivers side, I welded 90% of it from the inside, makes for a far nicer finish on the outside. This is after a quick going over with the flapper disc.

11012498_10203107006990812_4091410308484
Couldn't resist sitting it on. Needs flapper disc etc. Will partially redo this one as Im not 100% happy with it (welded from the outside) - This was actually the first side I did...

Chevette guards are 5mm wider at the top edge, and 5mm longer through the centre, thus the random weld lines..

So, I hacked the guards up as I wasn't happy with the fit..

Used my original TF left front guard and that is fitting really quite nicely indeed now. Chevette guard on the drivers side, also the side that bore the brunt of the impact took me awhile longer however..

Properly bolted on this time, rather than just sitting on like last time. Bolted the halfs in place then welded slowly..
