Testament
Pipes all welded up except for the collector now, ended up miging most of them in the end, wasn't really happy with my tig skills and dont particularly want to have to fix leaks later - so a bit uglier maybe but hopefully more certain integrity. Testament
well I'm full of it as usual - didnt get around to doing anything much until this evening when I got about an hour at it. this sheetmetal shaping bussiness is slow but I'm starting to get the hang of it, pretty happy with how it's coming along. I went and cut too much off one piece $%@#$#@ will probably just cut a bit more off then weld another piece to it and it should be ok. Testament
And done. Didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, should have been more careful with the fab and welding and left the welds. as I'd done a bit of a huckery job and had to grind them back ended up going through in a few places and having to then fill holes then grind back again and having to cleanup in the inside alot more. Still should be fine, and my progress is slow enough as it is without trying to do an esprit like job of it.

Testament
wow. nearly a year since I actually did something on this! Finally I have reclaimed my entire mancave and after several hours of shifting crap of from left to right and right to left I was able to at least uncover it and put it in the new bit of the shed with lots of room. I just need to invent a time travel device so I can actually find time work on it now. anyway motivation is building at least
Testament
in a surge of motivation built some new/probably unnecessary/massive chassis axle stands and put car on them figured i should continue with some exploratory research removed some clearly unnecessary parts got to this point and these tyres (195/50/15 on +12 15x7's) were sitting on the guards but no touchy anywhere else, 5-10mm chassis to diff and all suspension links + driveshaft moving freely. Testament
Needed to get this done before I can set the ride height. just have the hanger brackets left to do. Probably going to be up shit creek re: noise level Im guessing but I couldn't fit the longer resonator (not that it would make that much difference) in and get the pipe tucked up as high as it needs to be. Testament
Started to work on the guards to pull them out 10mm or so, just enough to get the hoosiers to tuck in on the -16 13x6's and quite quickly found this metal does not like to move very much. started by pulling by hand, then shifted to whacking with a big rubber mallet, then decided to get drastic and go for the scissor jack....... got a few mm movement then managed to bend the jack! so next option was hammer and dolly. a couple of hours beating on one arch got me a couple more mm so far - just enough to force the tyre up inside and axle up to whats left of the bumpstops, but will need to keep at it as it is still pretty well jammed into the guard.... Testament
Was varying working it by holding the dolly on the outside and hitting "out" and holding the dolly inside pushing out while hitting from the outside (alot easier/more controllable) keen on any advice in this area
