escort mk1 Posted November 10, 2007 Share Posted November 10, 2007 have done a full overhaul on my 1300 hundred and just started her up. she sounds mint and revs good but will only hold a idle if the choke is on. pretty sure its something to do with the air/fuel mixture. what should i try? it aslo splutters fuel out the carby as i dont have a air filter on while im working on it. ive reset the timing manually but i cant use a strobe light cause i cant get a good idle, it has a new coil, leads points. theres plenty of fuel getting pumped in. any help would be great. escort mk1 Posted November 10, 2007 Author Share Posted November 10, 2007 yea ive adjusted those a bit but as soon as i take the choke of it splutters and dies. ive got a mate whos a mechanic to come around and check et out tomoro. he thinks i might have set the timing chain wrong.
