two_days_late
Discussion Link: //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10639 Brought the car off Stacov a couple of years ago, pretty standard 1600. Since then its been gutted, sold the motor & gearbox and ripped out all the interior. Just waiting till i get enough money together to get in paneled and painted properly. Body Came with kings in the front which i'll probably end up keeping for now. Will be getting the rear leaves reset and chuckin in some 2" lowering blocks. Kept the downdraught webber off this motor to use for running in the new motor as i dont really wanna be muckin round tuning the twin webbers while running in a new engine. Will be getting new carpets and have a sports instrument cluster for it but other than that i'll probably just tidy it up some and get some recarros at a later stage. will be usin that wheel. Fibreglass flares from fibreglass auto replacements in Gizzy. Will also get a front air dam from them (make them pretty cheap if anyones looking). Then the body just needs to be paneled, rust wise its pretty good with only a few bits in the typical places. Quarter bumpers in serious need of some chrome. Engine New cobys New Fast Road/Rally cam from Kelford in Christchurch, might be a bit lumpy for round town but will have to wait and see. Cars mainly gonna be for gettin back and fourth from welly to gizzy so not really worried. Intake manifold for the side suckers, also from Kelford down south. Oversize 1300 pistons, still not sure if im going to use them yet as i've heard differnt things about being able to run that compression on pump gas. Some people say it'll be sweet but some say i'll need 2 headgaskets to lower the compression. Pistons will also need to be machined coz of the cam. Any advice in this area would be appreciated. Duplex timing chain kit, also from Kelford. High pressure / High volume oil pump from Burton power in the UK. Balanced Crank, told its from a Formula Ford. Was brought off trade me so it'll be tested before its used. Electronic Dizzy Head Supply & fit hardened inserts x 4 158.00 Strip & clean head 18.00 Bead blast & acid clean head 32.00 Crack test head 24.00 Reface valves 28.00 Reface Seats 38.00 Reface head 40.00 Clean & assy 44.00 Oversize valves 105.00 Port & polish & match to manifolds 200.00 Double Valve Springs 193.00 ============================================ Total $963.
two_days_late
Got some TSW Apex's 16" wrapped in 205/45 Bridgestone ZR's. Will get some new wheel nuts and the front air dam in the next few weeks then its off to be paneled. Cheers Matt
two_days_late
Another photo of the car, think im gonna go without the flares now as i dont think they'll suit these wheels even with spacers. In more exciting news the flywheels been tapped doweled and lightened, ready for the sierra clutch. Refaced with the new dowels. On the left is the hunk of metal cut off the flywheel. Refaced after the bit was cut off. Old sierra clutch on the escort flywheel. Will get the new clutch in the next couple of weeks.

two_days_late
Engine is now together, I just need to finish painting it when I'm back in Gisborne over new years. Then its a matter of setting up the carbs, and sorting out the electrics (need a side entry cap for the dizzy and some sort of coil).
