oldschool lancer
allrighty just started on the lancer- 6 months after buying it lol its a 1200cc 79 buble shape looks like the old school logo the doner car its a 79 galant with a 4g52 (i think- yuky chain drive 2L) motor is a amg 4g63 first problem- lancer gearbox x-member mounting point needed slotting so the sigma 5spd will fit, easy fixed but it seems to sit foward bout 20mm second problem- sigma engine mounts dont bolt up to the amg motor im guessing rwd 4g63 mounts will do??? third problem- gear box wont sit properly, the front of it wont lift up as its fouling on the gearbox tunnel do i bash it up with a hammer, gind the casting seam off or am i doing something wrong? it used to be 4spd with the gearbox sitting in the correct possition id say the the gap between the gearbox and drive shaft should close. everthing mechanical bolts up ie gearbox motor backing plate starter, it just doesnt want to go into the lancer! please ignore the typing errors thanks for your time j
TygerTung
It might fit better once you get some RWD 4G63 mounts? I didn't bother slotting my crossmember, just took up the movement with the rubber bush.
oldschool lancer
i had to where the gearbox bolts to the x-member as there was a 5mm difference between the 2 holes and studs my lancer xmember was about 3times as wide as the sigma, maybe the lb serries chassis is different to the ex?
