Guest evotoy
Anyone here installed Tension strut system in a Mk2/Mk1 Escort? I have installed adjustable rosejointed lower TCAs and need to make the front end more accurate.... the rosejoints seem to allow too much movement/roll on the TCA... Tension/compression struts are apparently the answer... i would prefer Tension strut with a rollbar.... Gatrac in the UK do the kit for around NZ$1000..... whereas the Compression strut is only $350.... (but no provision for an anti-rollbar).... Any pics or links would be appreciated. PS if I go this way then I will have some standard eurathane bushed TCA's and a mint set of sway bar mounts which have been fabricated for anti-dive and double width bushes.... peteretep
ive just had a look at the escort and cortina restoration book and it says that compression struts were used instead of anti roll bars, theres a kit on the burtonpower website part number RD193 for 123pounds. could you get better tca's? Guest evotoy
already got the good TCA's.... the ones from burton... rose-jointed and in-situ adjustable.... Compression struts were used early on then dumped.... and yes they dont use a sway bar... but as for pushing the car hard I will need a sway bar to help stem oversteer.... Anyone out there got a Gartrac parts book in PDF?
