  1. You still got the green car Shaneo? Love that thing!

Still very grateful for the hoon around Manfield in it, it's the only time I've been on that track at all so far :)

I do miss it but that thing burnt such a hole in my pocket. Now I have two projects on the go and it is still cheaper than owning the green car . The van is getting a repower so should go harder than the old sport with a little luck then I will take you for another ride

  2. You could buy one of the convex universal truck mirrors from any of a variety of truck suppliers and try get a glazier to cut it.

They're fairly cheap from memory. Maybe $50 a pop. Try Multispares for one.

Britax is the brand of them.

I just had to get a new truck mirror for our one driver had an issue with it $35 brand the curve gives far better view

  3. I've tried all these option's the bike carbs just couldn't keep up with an over sized head and the extra bits that I ran . Great for around town fun and a jump on the gas every now and then but they just couldn't keep up with my heavy foot.

Twin 45's are awesome so much top end power and sound great but after pulling my latest engine apart we found that the rings and pistons stuffed it have been over fueling. I would say more suited to a race engine rather than a cross of both road and track.

Twin 40's give great mid range and probably the best balance of power and reliability. ( But buy a brand new set if you can afford them They should come ready to go and it will be cheaper by far in the long run)

Injection I would rather do this now as it gives the best of all power tuning . And you can get a engine for cheap . just a bit more on the set up cost.

But really all said and done 120hp 1.6 xflow in and escort is enough power to have loads of fun and smiles do some skids and almost get you into trouble.  I'm going to go with twin 40's for next engine for the Van as the fuel injection cost compared to what I have spare in my shed and other projects that need work and $$$$

Good luck there is loads of good advise on links already provided ( read loads and then read it all again )

  4. Read the build thread on my old sport I bought 7.5s off them but only 2 of . They work on the front with rolled guards but the rear is a big problem I was 2inch lowered on reset leafs and I stretched the inner guard as much as I could but they still rubbed with 185/60/13 rubber . I the end I took them back to change the boss suggested that I shorten my diff or buy a full set of brand new tyres 175/50/13 which is far to stretched on 7.5

I went on to tell him he was false  advertising that they don't fit a MK2 escort he took them back and swapped me for 7 inch instead. only go 1.5 inch lowered if you want to drive your car hard . 185/60/13 on a 7 inch rim will give you another inch lower on top of the 1.5 but still leave a bit of room for movement in the springs to have some fun when you drive
