  1. Realised today that the electronic speedo sender unit on my altezza 6speed box is not going to work with the old mechanical speedo in the corolla. Is there something on link ecu's that fix this? or another simple fix? I have seen a few ae86's and ke70's on youtube etc with this conversion and working speedo's Any help would be great, i am aware that you can buy "convertor" boxes but there must be another way. Cheers
  2. OPINION TIME Liking the fender mirrors, but keen to keep it kiwi spec with the door mirrors. Vote here: Poll: Should I... Hope it works haha
  3. Yea those are your ones, cant wait to get them cleaned up. The cast inlet manifold is the sort of thing that my dad designs and builds for a living, they take allot of work, and are not the cheapest for one off objects. Also dont have our own mill so had to pay someone to machine it. And i will be there haha.
  4. Got my first cast manifold back from the machinist today, love it, now to soda bloast the throttle bodies to get them looking as new and sexy.
  5. I'll ask him if he's keen to do more when I see him next. Biggest he can do is 14" at the moment tho. Due to the lathe size.
  6. Found a local engineer today. Does allot of automotive stuff. Dropped my steel rims off to be widened. Next will be diff and driveshaft as soon as the engines back in. Looking like its on track to be done by summer.
  7. New Seats nearly in, mounts are in position, just need welding. should do for a bit. boss kit finished
  8. After watching initial d, I decided I would love some square fog lights for the front. To hang below the bumper. Managed to find these for a great price at the swap meet on Saturday. will see how they fit. Also picked up some waterjet'd parts from local workshop. A boss kit and ends to my cusco strut brace. Which I have assembled and are ready for paint
  9. new tyres arrived, toyo t1r's 195/45/14, now to get the steel rims widened to match. next up is to waterjet out a strut brace and boss kit....
  10. Yea will be used to shape the sand in a box. Then take it out and pour aluminium into the indent thats left. When it's Cooled down. Take it out and machine up the faces and drill and tap all the holes.
  11. wow thats a distance, would need 120mm'ish trumpets. My boss has about 310mm on his chevron racecar, and i worked it out about that on a online calculator. so will aim for 310mm for a start.
  12. Thanks to my amazing father, we have a pattern for a 4age-beams intake manifold for the quads. And thanks to a good mate who sold his evo 7, i have a evo 7 rear Cusco strut brace, which is an insanely close fit to the ke70. So will make up some new mounts for the alloy centre off it. Oh and my trumpets arrived. just a couple of 50's for now.
  13. Fitted my new Evo radiator. Nice and big, with both inlet and outlet on the correct side, and 99% sure the bonnet still fits.
  14. The automotive photoshop bible, where i learnt all my basics when first starting out. http://digimods.co.uk/tutorials/tutorials.htm
  15. There was two guys in levin, the guy that certed the v8 subaru and Andy Smith. Allot of the local hot rodders are using Andy these days, he comes up to Palmerston often too.
  16. Happy birthday to me, thanks japan
  17. Ke70 Discussion Made a box for the altezza clutch pedal today. It's still a little long but should shorten up fine and seems to work mint.
  18. yea hes allgood, done a few of our cars, and always shows up when he says to, not like others. was just thinking the guy in levin might let me go lower and stretched tyres etc. And cheers about the photoshop.
  19. well not so much the "japanese" but more the "boy racer" lol Will probably end up using him, as he was very helpfull with my last ke70. Cheers about the adjustable's, opinion on cut springs and better shorter shocks?
  20. Looking at the new diff today and trying to decide which route to go down for the suspension. Really like the look and price and what i have read about hsd coilovers. So get some Ae86 ones for it? (i have read the steering arms may need to be changed to work? Anything else? what about the back spring mounts? OR cut the ke70 springs a little and get some heavy duty short stroke shocks?? Leaning towards the HSD's as long as i dont have to search the country for ae86 parts to make them work. Also looking towards cressida front brake setup anybody know if these will be able to be adapted to the ae86/ke70. Ke70 Discussion
  21. Nothings wrong with Danny or Marty, dads in the hot rod club with both of them, we just get the feeling he wouldn't want to do it, being japanese. will ask for sure when he comes around to check one of dads.
  22. Didn't think the cert guys would be that strict on stretched tyres. Might have to see what the cert man i decide on using says after i widen the rims. Anyone have any experiences with the certifier from levin? dont want to use either of the two palmy guys.
  23. why 225/40/14's? is that the lowest profile you can get for 14's?
  24. Not really "renderings" as such done with Photoshop from lots of images. And yea i wish the sigma rims where 15's too, I have seen them welded inside blank 15x8 rim barrels before that you can buy from transport wholesale place, but im not sure if im keen on 15's on the corolla or 14's
