  1. Got the bonnet back on today, Small Spacers on the hinges for a little extra clearance. Fire Extinguisher all mounted in the back. have the horn, window squirters and most of the lights working. Need to take it to the electricians to see if he can figure out why the radiator fans are not working. And to wire up the tachometer for me. Then wheel alignment, Then Cert?!?!
  2. I have no idea. most of the stuff he did went way over my head haha.
  3. Yea. What Mitch said. Had a few little quirks that he put down to, the engine internals being a bit corroded. Having sat for more than two years. So will take it back after I have done some good k's in it and see if we can get an improvement. At least it is now drivable. And bloody fun to drive.
  4. Dragged it out to Keith Stewarts today to be tuned All went fairly well. Can definitely recommend Keith @ dynopro.co.nz Very knowledgeable and well priced. Next is wheel alignment, wire up the horn/tachometer, figure out why the cooling fans are not working, get it to the cert man and buy some more 14x7.5 wheels that somebody will be kind enough to offer me
  5. Have the catch can all welded up mounted and plumbed in. Vacuum lines run from the outer throttle bodies, to a tank from a aw11, then from the tank to the booster. Will be interesting to see how this works. Dyno Booked in on friday with Keith Stewart. Fingers Crossed i have remembered to do everything...
  6. Getting close now. take one catch can, brought from asia for an extremely reasonable price. subtract the bottom Equals nice fit will get it welded up this week Also painted the gauge panel thingy. Refitted painted wipers/started on ventilation hose to catch can. And picked up this from the uk
  7. Engine mounts were pretty straight forward. Was just a piece of box section cut in half and welded to the cross member. Is fairly easy to see how to make them once you get the engine sitting in the engine bay. Hopefully this will be at November/Decembers? monthly meet if you want to come along for a look. 0275989439 if you have more questions. Cheers
  8. Brought a new brake cylinder and fitted yesterday. Forgot to buy a new bleeder for a rear caliper. As one of them is rounded off. Have also ordered a new catch can. Which should be easier to run lines to. Then need to to take some time off work, to take it to Keith Stewart to be dyno'd. Then to levin for cert.
  9. Woo hoo Page #5 I AutoCad up a sump tray bash guard, had it Water Jet cut out, at Advanced Sheet Metals here in Palmerston North. Most of it was a bit of a guestimate. Bolted It up and it fits mint. It is cut from 4mm High tensile Aluminium. Super light and very rigid. Sits about 20mm lower than the sills/spoiler. So is the lowest part of the car. If you think this may also work for your ke70, feel free to download the files below, Sump bash tray.zip (183 KB) Also Grabbed One of dads freshly cast gauge clusters. Its a very nice fit in place of the factory ashtray. Will end up painting it satin black i think.
  10. Heaps of room under the diff. Although I do want to raise it up to make it a bit easier to dyno. Which will leave less room for the exhaust to go under the diff. The area i have the least space is around the coby. Its hanging a bit low, although im pretty sure it isn't as low as the front spoiler and sump guard I am getting water jet out of aluminium.
  11. Got most of the exhaust welded up And made some hanging brackets
  12. Muffler in place Rest of exhaust once it was tacked together. Hopefully weld it up tomorrow, not sure how its going to last, as the rear end of the coby sits a little lower than the sills. Also try to do the front wheel bearings tomorrow and bleed the brakes?
  13. Pre 1960 had Vacuum wipers. That stop working when you meet a decent hill or overtaking.
  14. Stopped off at feilding exhaust centre after work and got these Ready to start the exhuast this weekend. The giant, snug fitting rear muffler:
  15. More Photos? sure. Still can not believe how close it is.
  16. The front half was shortened as well. cant remember why. but has worked out mint. sweet. will have to should you some burgerfuel, if you make it to another monthly meet
  17. Ok, I started on a u bend yesterday to come out of the side and up over the top. On two piece Drive Shaft, yea we mounted the bearing in the middle with a little bracket on each side. Altezza two piece shafts are <$100 from ToyoTas Nissin Parts world. When are you down next? so i can grab that basemap? Getting close to needing a tune
  18. @crooked my rear coilovers still have as much angle as we could get on them, with the caliper in the way. They should be close to the same angle as factory. @eke_zetec that sounds like far to much work to me haha and braided is far to fancy.
  19. Both driveshafts are finished and in, And pushed it outside for some sunshine while my brother used the hoist.
  20. Started on the rear DS loop And got some diff oil in. More tomorrow.
  21. Ok, So it didnt look like this then I think im going to try find a U bend to come out of the throttle side, then from there copy you.
  22. Stupidly brought two driveshaft loops on an impulse buy a couple of weeks ago. Deep down i knew i really didn't need them and that they weren't going to fit. Today the first one transformed into this Much better Also finished relocating the fuel lines, much happier with them now, and are sitting no where near the driveshaft and diff. Wired up the licence plate lights. And Painted the lip before fitting it.
  23. What would you recommend to do with/about the PCV valve? I do have a ventilated catch can there to use. Should i remove the valve? I noticed on yours, @truenotch, that you had two right angles on top. did you block off the side hole where the valve was?
  24. Got the driveshaft back in. All balanced and ready to go. Need to make/fit the two driveshaft loops next. And reroute the Petrol lines. Also started prepping the front lip for its paint.
