They have a couple of those torque wrenches at MIT. They don't make them anymore which sucks.

Cheers guys.
Yea it was sudden, never had trouble with it starting the whole time I've owned it. Will check the relay and probably wouldn't hurt to replace the glow plugs anyway.
Engine is 4j62. Coolant level hasn't changed since I did it 6 months ago.
Engine has been replaced like 2 years ago after original shat the bed

So in the last couple of days ive had a problem with my Bighorn. Model is a 1996 3.1 Auto Turbo diesel.
Have had no troubles with it until last Friday when i went to go to work. Jumped in and tried to start it, all it did was turn over. Not firing at all. Was running late for work so just jumped into my other car.
On my way home I grabbed another battery as the one in it was in pretty bad shape.
Chucked new battery in and it fired up after a bit of hesitation. Took it for a decent 20min drive and all seemed well.
Didnt use it again until yesterday, and the same thing happened. Not starting, just turning over. Had to be somewhere so again used my other car. When i got back it started fine. Went for another drive, nothing wrong.
Tried it a few times over the course of the day and each time it started on pretty much the first crank.
Now this morning it wont start again. Just turning over.
Been trying to think what could be the problem but am shit with this sort of thing.
Any ideas for what i could check?

Have made many specific tools for jobs at work.
Guides for installing seals on hydraulic cylinders.
C spanners for various jobs.
Few other things which i cant remember right now.
It is a good feeling though when it works and saves time when trying to do these sorts of jobs in a hurry.

Fuck me. As everyone has said glad you are OK, and glad you didnt have passengers.
Had a similar issue when my Mark 2 got written off, dude had no insurance. Getting paid off $3500 at $50 a week.

So for now they will cert a car with these tires, but afterwards they change it officially, they wont be legal?

Jealous of fab skills.
How much power you make with the turbo?

The noise. Oh the noise is glorious

New wheels look perfect. Not too over the top.

Any particular reason it needs to be under 100k? You could get a nice one here for what you are looking at spending

I guess so yea

Chucked an old Nardi i had lying around on. Feels a lot nicer than the woodgrain one that was on it.
And ended up down at Meremere yesterday for a drift training day a friend had put on. Managed to go out in this when the track was quiet at lunch time. Goes well but i was scared of hitting the wall as i had to drive home so didnt stay out long.
A few things on my list to do.
Get factory rev counter working.
Finish off lengthening my spare set of LCAs for a bit more camber up front.
And cut up my spare struts for more slam.

Hi Clint.
Ive recently bought Ryans AA63 and am looking at getting it a cert.
It was a factory fitted 16v small port 4age, and has been replaced with a standard 20v 4age.
Will i need to add driveshaft hoops for the upgrade? Its not exactly a huge power upgrade and from what i can tell on the LVVTA specs states it needs to be a 50% upgrade in power to warrant the hoops.
The rest of the driveline is standard, gearbox, driveshaft, diff.
Cheers

One of the riversides decided to go all leaky on me, am hoping its just the valve and not the seal.
So chucked some Mk3s on and took it to Kieran (Furai) for an alignment.
Can happily say it steers a shit load better now. Will hopefully be able to take it to the skid pad this coming Monday for a bit of a play.

Havent done a whole lot to this cause of busy reasons but am hoping to change that soon.
Annoyingly the spare struts i have are different to the ones in the car, so will have to cut and lower the threaded tube on the original ones. Have some new tubes to do this.
Also bought some more wheels.
A pair of 14x8 -12 and 6j Mk3s. Will run the 8s on the front and get the 6s widened, hopefully in the next month or so.
Am planning on stripping the black paint off cause its quite bland, and running no paint until i decide on a colour. Any idea on a good paint stripper i could use? Dont really want to get them sandblasted
