  1. Are there any wheel builders in Christchurch?
  2. decided on this. its from an ag100 ive got lying about. going to scrap the rim and put my 21 inch rim on it
  3. this is the cb77 drum i was going to you. its too big and would suit a cafe racer better
  4. a set of mini apes would be cool. ive got a set of pull backs which i was gonna chop, slug and adjust the rake. the front wheel is a 21inch suzuki dr front wheel and the rear is a 17 inch triumph. ive got a honda cb77 front drum which im thinking of putting on instead of the dr but the cb77 looks quite big. whichever ive choose im gonna polish the hub when i come to get them rebuilt
  5. thanks man. yeah the apes are tall. im gonna put on a set of regular triumph low rise bars
  6. bought these forks to put on the triumph. got them for 35 bucks from trademe. they should be here in a couple of day. theyre from a suzuki b120. until then ive fitted these which are a similar size. i put some apes on it too to see what it would look like. not too keen on them for this bike but will use them for another triumph i'll be building in the future
  7. Finally got a pair of axle plates cut out by a workmate of my dads. So i started testing the tubes for fit
  8. progress is slow. i went up the sounds with the mrs at the weekend and have been working on my halloween costume every night this week. when i was in picton we went in a 2nd hand shop for a look and i bought a sprung seat for my beach cruiser
  9. cut some spare tube i had lying around to cap the ends of the tubes off bought some new clamps too. $5 each from bunnings
  10. thought id throw some bits on to see how the pipes and mufflers i bought at the swap meets would look
  11. picked this up yesterday from trademe for another 500 engine im building up
  12. cheers man. i havent slotted the axle plates. just the tubes where they slide into
  13. theres a couple of companies in the states that make weld on hardtail kit for a sportster. led sled and tc bros i think
  14. fit up of the slots in the tubes to the axle plates. cant wait to get them cut out and start welding some shit together
  15. a fixture to make sure the lower rails are centered and evenly spaced. i'll use it to space the top rails aswell.
  16. ive reshaped the axle plates and think they look alot better and more slim.
  17. another little project im working on
  18. Drilling a pilot hole for the axle plate slot. i drilled it out to 10mm and cut the rest out with a cutting wheel
  19. managed to get some tubes bent up. the bottom rail is coped and slotted ready to be tacked together when i get the axle plates cut on friday. im not too happy with how they look so im gonna slim them down and make them look more aesthetically pleasing. i made this one from wood so i could the angles right for the tube. i bought a new bender today as my old one decided to shit itself. ive bent both sides for the upper and lower rails and will cut and cope the tubes that connect them together. the top rail hasnt had any final cutting yet, just bent to see how it looks
  20. this is the oil tank and petrol tank i'll be using. the petrol tank is an old wassel i think the axle plates are just card templates until i get them cut out of 10mm plate. is there anywhere in chch that will laser cut them or waterjet them out? bent one of the lower rails too. my pipe bender is a piece shit so if anyone has one for sale cheap let me know
  21. the hardtail i bought for it originally was for a 650 which is a little taller. it had about 4 inches of stretch and lowered around 3 inches. i dont want to be scraping the pipes so im only lowering it around 2 inches with only an inch of stretch. im starting from scratch with the hardtail and will make a 2nd one for the other frame i have. i'll make the hardtail on my frame jig which i built.
