Sounds like a plan, always good to meet people interested in cars that aren't dicks!
Might have to utilise the S15 towbar to bring this to the next meet...
-
Done...well version 1 completeish, no brakes and needs safetyfying

Quite keen to get up on 2 wheels on seal and gets a mad speed wobble at ~15km/h...in other words perfect!

Mrs says yes...what are you going to be in so we at least 'know' someone there?!

17 December!
I know its short notice but a few of the guys from the Nissan Silvia club are having a mini-meet tomorrow.
Come along if you like.
Meet 12:00pm noon at the carpark outside of Goughs CAT located at 3 Brothers Corner, Richmond.
Travel out to rabbit island, there may be a BBQ available so bring along some food to cook up if you feel like it.
Would be good to see some Nelson people out there.

Will try make it, will they be a kid-friendly bunch? Taking my 2 yo is a sure way to get a leave pass with a 4 week old at home. Will go with my brother and his S15 (Silver with Gold rims)...

what about the front end off a ride on mower
oh yus...not a cheap cheap project any more, but will probably be far more sensible...may end out being a 4 wheel kart...
-
New baby on Friday so I'll start earning brownie points...no old school ride for me at the moment but always have gas $ if someone doesn't mind a tag-along...
-
Would be great, unfortunately no 'oldschool' car at the moment, but I'm patient! Not sure if you've got access to an engineering (or wood) workshop in Nelson, if you need access to one just let me know, have most things just no TIG yet...
-
Spotted today zooming along Haven Road, looks awesome...top effort!
-
Hmmmm I might have to head to the transfer centre at the weekend, I'm seeing a ride on mower front end in my future...or something a bit more robust the Triang kart was gonna get fecked...
-
supercheap have a range of wheels, all suitably sketchy
Cheaper than $40/pair?
-
Sack barrows rated to 250kg at Bunnings $40...for the interim will have an old Triang go kart front end for ~ walking speed mucking around...
-
Hmmm hadn't thought about lateral stress, was just thinking of the static weight (rated to 100kg a piece). Bugger...back to the spending $ solutions!
-
Stripped all the excess shit off it tonight, plans for pitman arm style steering as per Filboi's, but with mountain buggy front wheels ...I think anyway! Any better ideas?
Twin engine set up with a castor for a front wheel? Maybe mark 2....
-
i did the exact same thing, its max fun on grass.
Done...will report back when complete...
-
After mucking around on a mates kids quad at the beach at the weekend I wondered if I could get all the fun for a fraction of the cost...as the stars alligned the above closed on TM today, mine for $50.
Current plan is make a three wheeled kart with a seat mounted as low as possible for max lols would be great to have any input ideas, other stupidity I could attempt...I'm a workshop teacher so this is basically professional development

DR250s are no powerhouse...17hp for the road model (talkin' bout the SOHC model with GN250 similar bits).
No easy 'powah' mods aside from a service, especially clean airfilter and carb, they're a pretty low spec economy ugly cruiser. You can also play with making the exhaust more free flowing by gutting the muffler but you'll want to rejet also...
-
Levels would be a bit of a mission - but doable, need a place to see what the RB26 can do - the roads not really the place!
-
Don't sell it off! It's way too fun when in a drunken situation etc.
Ha, second kid due in a fortnight...drunken situations happen when I'm outta town! Is there anything better than 'Adventures' to make the most of the tech?

Pre-ordered, bought a PS3 specifically for it....anti-climax, just like GT4 but prettier, sold up after a month and now waiting for 6...
Might as well just buy an xbox 360 and forza 4. I'm considering it, beats a 10 year wait for another let down
Yeah very true, I guess the RROD issue with the 360s is probably sorted by now...
Damnit Mikuni...got me thinking now have a new 250gb 360 with Kinect on its way here, on the plus side was $399, sell off Kinect = profit!

What...it's not even school holidays? Sounds like the guy who told you that you need one might also have been a guy that I taught a few years ago. He was convinced he had drifted his 190E Merc round a roundabout at 120km/h in reverse

sweet you got my number if you need help with it in blenheim
Well as it turned out the car never even stopped in Blenheim...was delivered to Picton
Anyway - for another $187 it was delivered to Nelson, have it at home now. Not very exciting to look at (think S15 Spec S with gold wheels and adjusties on their highest setting, plus a towbar! ) but very good fun to drive. On the hunt for R33 GTR wheels...
Kart plans...

Persevered through the speed wobbles today...30km/h achieved, need to get brake sorted plus all sorts of slop removed.
Plus cables are just cable tied on, need something more permanent...have toyed with registering for max lols...will see once it's more polished
