There's a Honda SS50 for sale in Richmond...I've been told I'm only allowed one bike at at a time unless I can afford it myself so I'm trying to encourage some other good chap to buy it...
-
Apples unnecessary, and I can store as many metric fine CSK screws as you can make. Would be nice to see what someone can do with the lathes that actually knows what they're doing...
-
You're welcome to come and see if our lathes are any better (I have no idea...I just like playing with the digital read outs!) They get pretty abused but are only a couple of years old...
-
My guess = 842kg...

My Honda C50 was vinned and registered as a motorbike by a previous owner (lapsed 11 years ago)...now I don't want to pay $450+ a year for rego + wofs.
So I need to register as a moped, obviously!
As far as I can see my options are buy some plates off a wrecked C50/ old Honda scooter...
Or go through re-entry certification with a sympathetic VTNZ chap...
Anyone got any other clever ideas?
OK....so over the last few weeks I've had a few calls to NZTA and I've found out a few interesting things
As of July 2011 the 2 kW maximum no longer applies, as long as it is <50cc and limited to 50 km/h it's fine!
If a bike has been vinned as a motorbike it doesn't need to be entry certified, it just needs a VTNZ chap to inspect and they'll issue new plates ( $130ish with 6 months rego).

Slightly off topic but...
What's the cheapest RC car anyone has found? Looking at bulk order of around 60 units, will get students to make vacuum formed bodies, to be honest turn in reverse cars would be fine! Aiming for sub $10 if at all possible

With a 5 year warranty, 5 years servicing/WOFS I think it'd be hard to lose. My parents have ordered their 86 to be a commuter/toy and realistically never push it as hard as the reviewers do.

The biggest pain is the proof of ownership, ideally a receipt from the last registered owner...but you can usually get away with just a receipt from the person you bought it off plus a declaration from the police that they have no interest in said bike

1948 Tucker Sedan

Not quite, it also needs front and rear lights plus a horn...
-
No wof...but pretty much has to be in woff'able condition, the big change since July last year is that mopeds no longer have to be less than 2 KW (verified by NZTA) provided thye're less than 50 cc and can only do 50km/h...
Hmmmm what year should my C50 be...I believe 1971 has a ring to it...
-
Heh, that's what my students would say...looking at doing it up to on sell at this stage hence the reason why I want it legit(ish)

So does that mean that widened steels automatically equal a need for cert, or just that they need to be of 'certified' quality?
-
I got my new widened steels back from chris web by on Friday. Really amazing neat welds and finish and only cost $250! Plus ho know Don hoff well and they are fully certifiable as I need to get my cert plate changed to suit them.
I'll get them sand blasted and then painter at work will put decent paint on.
I thought your wheels were already widened...have you gone even wider? Isaac is thinking about getting his Probox wheels widened, does anything need to be done to them first?

As far as I know the 720 Kingcab only ever came with the bucket seats in the front( not that you would ever get people in the back of one of these).
I was 6 ft tall when my parents finally bought a second car, my brother and I sat facing each other the 800 km to Dunedin every holidays for years...

This should be pretty straight forward for me over the next week if you decide to not just drive up, give me a PM

Spied this today on a perfect blue sky day, looked VERY sharp, best looking EX lancer I've ever seen.
-
Lack of balance would be offset by having a twin or triple 'rotor'?
-
New swing arm, done. Must be cheaper than getting an Engineer to build. How far off are the shock mounts etc?
Plus alloy bling!

Hmmmmm Roman must know the answer to this. Are you on Toyspeed? Bazda on there is producing coil overs as seen here

Can you just use ae86 stuff?AE86 is not IRS so probably no use...

If you get a higher top speed when you are slightly off/before WOT as apposed to at WOT, could this be caused by leaning out/too much air, not enough gas? That would be more likely than over fuleing would it not?
I've had this exact issue with my bike, any insight into what the cause is? Definitely uses more fuel on WOT, but performance drops...

That is indeed pretty damn cool

Suzuki GT200 resuscitation...
in Two Wheels
Posted
I picked this up today
Needs some love (idles from 3.5 - 4k, all bulbs died on the way home, 100km/h is full throttle in 5th(but it will do 110 in 4th!))), on the plus side it is reg'd and wof'd and goes well enough to keep up with traffic.
Feel free to post inspiration here as I'm not sure what direction to take once the gremlins are sorted...
It's a 1980 Suzuki GT200 X5 which is a 2 stroke, twin carb/exhaust/cylinder machine. It has drums up front which do a great job. I'm suspicious they aren't original as it also came with a disc front end and alloy wheels in the pile of spares
