Anyone follow the TT? Great to see Bruce Anstey (kiwi) qualified 1st in superbike and supersport.

That thing is amazing, wonder how much it will go for?

My father used to have a Borgward Arabella. Useless bit of info for you.

It was a 2.8 and they're pretty uninspiring engines. A 3 is much better.
And 300hp/420Nm sure beats 190hp/280Nm.
Fair enough!

What made you change from the 3.0 so quickly? Does the V8 have much more power?

My father fitted a subaru 1.8 flat four under the floor of a launch he built, worked OK and fitted under the floor with no hump or engine box required. Is there a decent sized diesel version of a subaru flat four?

sounds tough, cant wait for the pics
Longest delay ever! Back a few years ago when Dad was selling the car, someone phoned up asking for photos. So he sent them ALL the photos in an envelope and never got them back. however I was on facebook last night and someone uploaded a couple of early photos of the fronte, before he spaceframed it and put big flares on etc. It was still road-legal at this point.
I'll upload in a sec.

That manifold is awesome man, a work of art. Which supercharger are you fitting? M112? Are you going to use any charge-cooling?
-
Well done great to see it legal!
-
What kind of supercharger is that? M90 or similar?
-
Wicked car man, good work keeping it oldschool with the 4K.

I've got a lot of upholstery supplies from this crowd before, awesome selection of all sorts.
Reid & Twiname
The website is a bit crap & doesn't show much
Cheers for that they are just around the corner from my work, I'll give them a call.

I am re-covering the headliner in my wifes E36 BMW, I have removed it from the car and am in the process of scraping all the old foam off the shell. I need to buy a couple of meters of foam-backed headliner fabric, does anyone have any recommendations in Auckland for a supplier?
Cheers

I have one of those 12V sealed batteries for the fishfinder on my kayak, it has spade terminals instead of posts. Can I just use a normal car battery charger on it?
-
They are A-fuelers aren't they? Not top fuelers (not supercharged)
So I think they are usually a low 5 second pass, would still be cool to watch though and I will probably be there.

Cool car. Is it a 390? Is there much room around the sides for headers?
My father has a 61 thunderbird and the cast exhaust manifolds weigh a ton and don't look like they flow that well, bu there is not much room for anything else.

Well done on the rust, really good to see you didn't give up and just kept chipping away at it. Looking forward to seeing how it looks after paint, are you going to stick with the factory colour?

I went to Ferrari museum in Italy last year. Can't remember name of town but think it was also name if a Ferrari.
Then thrashed a scudera 430 or something... Amazing machines
Modena I think isn't it? I went there with my brother back in 2007, loved some of the prototypes that never got released, like the rally cars etc.
I went to the BTCC final at silverstone in 2006, it was good but there were no ATMs or EFTPOS and we didn't bring enough cash for beers etc. Rookie mistake!

Awesome find!

Yeah when we saw you going the other way we though we must have missed one of the clues! We had fun chasing an ariel atom over the hills towards whitianga!lol yea i saw that falcon it was awesome man! my mate fell in love it with. i was in the light blue escort that was going the wrong way in thames cause of a blown motor and crawling home

It is on at the moment now right? Lets hear from you how it went.
I'll be honest I hate these sort of things as they are so artificial. It should be a race but you can't go fast. These 'event' rallies tend to be a wanker magnet as everyone is pretending to be wild and crazy for the 2 PR girls and a camera crew for the video to promote the next years race.
They told you take 6 condoms as the marketing people want this to appear like a Vegas trip with Charlie Sheen. But the nearest you got to a Dirty Sanchez were the 2 guys in afro wigs vying for the biggest hair award at the DJ Elmo afterparty.
We had a good day, really enjoyed it. No problems with dickheads ruining it for everyone, hardly any cops, great roads. (ardmore, thames, whitianga, tairua, miranda, over the hunuas to clevedon then brookby road to beachlands). Comedian was great and there was plenty of food afterwards.
