okay so my holiday to nz finished this weekend. has to be the best holiday ive ever had! car, cars, cars, panelbeating, oldschooling, yarns and the best bunch of GC's, oh and racing!
had a really good time catching up with lots of like minded mates. got the cahnce to do some work on the kp whilst i was in nz and as some of you know i even made it to pukekohe for some more testing!
first things first though i made it into gt refinishers to get a little more done on the underbody and a bit of strengthening done.
once that was sorted i got on to susing out the missing issue. first thig first was to examine condition of fuel and flow from the pump. fuel was stale and pump had shat itself proceeding taupo, very minimal flow! took the walbro out and sent it of to get tested, after a being mucked around slightly i decided to splash out and buy a newbie. put it in and attempted some minor street testing.
in doing this i needed a passenger to test for boost leaks as i swore it was to noisy inside the car, after a bit of mucking around i finaly found that the intercooler had the mounting holes on the sides that went straight through to the inside of the intercooler,(doooooohhhhHHHHH) blocked them of then in typical subaru ecu fasion it was even worse. reset the computer then away we went, happy as larry! everything seemed all well and good and ready for the track!
basically it ran really well for 3 laps the would block the pre-filter to the pump so would do 3 laps then pit clean filter and head back out , so on and so forth till i was out of gas. all in all im very pleased at how well it went round puky considering i still had no rear brakes and was only boosting 5 psi. cant wait till next time round as i know what i need to sort the last few things out.
anyway, enough jiberjaba time for pics
In dire need of a wing
the walk of shame after geting stranded on the back straight after said fueling issue

do honey badgers really "not" give a shit?
this my new whip not quite as old and slamed but i thought that maybe chris would like a lil "hip" in the cycle division.
ps i have long distances to cover so needed somethig practical and also light enough to chuck on my suitcase and bring home for mobility.

im back between jan 23 and feb 12 so anytime between the suits me
-
i went to pit stop and the did mine for a cash 20, guessing it only has to be tacked in for a warant. if so any mig will weld it enough for the warrant man

Ha, 2zz finally
i had a good chuckle also (in my head, OS boes would love this)
a dude in finland is putting a 2zz into a kp starlet, this is being built as his daily/mrs summer car.
The very beginning. Just a few small things to add and it's ready. Maybe somebody noticed that i left the idea of powerful 7k for this project and instead of i have the 2ZZ-GE.
Transmission is J160 6-speed from an Altezza RS200 and rear axle will be a Toyota 8". So all genuine Toyota parts anyway..
Reason not to have an turbocharged 7k is that i can not get it leagally for street and then it would miss the point. In the other hand without thinking is it leagal or not i think 2ZZ is an nice option with all the nowadays goodies including VVTLi and quite nice NA power 192hp with 8700 redline.. Anyway there is a lot of space in the exhaust side for some nice stuff and there's a lot of potential in this engine..
So this will be my wife's ride in the summer time.. Maybe not next summer, but some.

even with the more exspensive helmets i had issues with flash. tried 3 different types whils working as a full time welder and still resorted to the bog standard helmet, personal preferance really.
-
can yo not handle a plain old helmet that you flick with your head.
-
also pretty sure all the utes from 2007 onwards run either 3.7 or 3.6
-
good find. spent an hour watching videos haha
another good tip from the video's is if you have a smart phone download the "miller" app for welder settings, a good starting poit for you to get ranges from

prevention is imposible
electro magnets on the door= smash the window
car wont start= tow it
wheels are clamped= drag it
get a gps tracking device, some now work through apps on ur phone. the moment your car moves you get notified the cops go in and catch the wankers. they may do damage before the cops (if they get there before you and ur mates) you will catch the pricks and they wont be able to do it to anyone else for atleast 2 years
my 2c anyway

i always wanted to get the stamps laser cut, all it would take is a medeium press and a bit of inginuity
-
this way you can utilize waht yo have and shouldnt have to make new plates and whay not. theoreticaly there would be alot less friction.
remember. keep things simple coz simple shit is easy to fix
-
just an idea?
-
lower the right hand bank 20-30 mm so there is less of the chain on the sprocket. therefore less friction. maybe?
-
Fill whole room with engine start. Should work a charm.
until one of them backfires due to lack of exhaust!
-
that chain looks so seriously tight
-
i was cheap and would cut the end off of a fudged screw diver
-
i got my watts link pivot out of a early 90's coon from pick a part. $14 from memory
-
yeah i did work experience in panel beaters for wbout 3 months, woy can get cavity wax in spray can form from any good paint suppliers, and sorry to say the more costly the better it is in this case.
ive also seen new atf being used. same as ^^^ seeps out for weeks and looks like blood =D

has anyone seen real steel yet
the truck that huch drives is so epic. looks like a double decker for oompa loompas

handling wasnt so great, overly stiff springs all round by atleast 50% but on the upside got alot of comments as to how sweet it looked when i was sketching out goin round the sweeper at only 150kph. was getting off the clock on the back straight, and was steeping out on the hair pin with the crazy grip and slingshot out it. alot of improvements to be made but as with all thing its gona take time!
