as you can see. the swages need a fair amount of attention still, but ill get there.

have more big plans now that the tube frame is finalized. basically i can lower the motor another 80mm now so i will be making a new cross member to suit an after market rack of some discription (todd/boost+k insert opinion here!)

whilst doing that i will be making up a new exhaust manifold to suit a VF twin scroll turbo. finish off the intake manifold and get a link g4 wired in.

lets hope it all goes at a steadfast pace while also trying to get my new ke25 project daily road legal

  3. okay so i have rebuilt the whole top end of an f8a suzuki motor with a new head and recon'd parts but now for the bottom end. What is the best way to clean all the milkshake out of the bottom end, first thought of degreaser and a parts bath but what happens when you put the new oil in? does the degreaser react with the new oilor should i just strip it completely down?

  4. defected for to much poke tonight, have tomorrow off before i start my new job Thursday, will fabricate some flares out of garden edging then to get me out of the shit, will post progress pics once done. might get my rear skirts on also to get it looking a little better

  5. all in know, super stoked with the new 3.9 ratio compared to the 5.1, im know running 3,200rpm at 100kph compared to 4,700ish rpm.

took it for a drive to the GC and back and it handles alot better, its tightened the rear end up a ship load.

bad news is the diff head is seriously noisey but that just seems to be a datsun thing from what ive heard, i think once i fix the tray and get some marine material on it the drum effect will weaken slightly. hopefully the noise wont resinate as bad.

i have a new mufler sitting there and a whole lot of pie to get some crazy extractors and the new system in.

in the mean time im waiting for a rainy day as it hasnt rained here in over a month. i want to get out and have some fun as the 800cc does not sustain fun.

anyway heres some pics of the new setup all in and finalized

  6. in the mean time i have been getting a little tired of the ridiculous final drive ratio so i know have a datsun 1200 diff that will be slammed in the rear and while im at it i have decided to replace the boring old leaves with a parallel 4 link plus pan-hard bar set up.

in doing this i will get better brake performance due to the loopy old brake system, and brake parts are readily available compared to the oem parts.

also the price of custom driveshafts over here gave me a scare, put it this way, it was alot more then getting my two piece subaru starlet shaft modified

anyway it aint a post without picks

  7. So heres a shot with all the wings painted up.

    4b4e2b85.jpg

In the mean time i have picked up a datsun 1200 diff. Its 1300 overall drum yo drum. An the factory carry diff is 1280, i could make do with another 10mm of poke so im happy.

Have sussed out all my trailing arms to do a 4 link conversion just nee panhard bar an some sort of coilovers. Motorbike suspension might be the way to go, designed all the bracketry and it will be made this week.

On another note i have started on the side skirts or whatever you would call it and im stuck as to how to do the back end

    Straigh skirts or slanted skirts

    5cb1cb0c.jpg

    6bfec13d.jpg

If its tapered at the rear then i dont have to do anything, if it is then i have a bit of work to do to try and blend it in

  8. so here is the chin lip and the roof spoiler

    331a6699.jpg

    5b526ab2.jpg

also got stuck into the wheel bearings and oh my no hub, the hub and the drum are at one with each other

    3f253903.jpg

on another note i now have ke front suspension to mod to fit the front as a brake upgrade

and i also have a datsun 1200 diff to slot in the rear for better motorway capabilities

    Wez

  9. Heres a pic for size comparison

So i sat down one day and thought of what direction i wanted to go.

I missed out on richies advans and dicide i wanted to go along those lines. I managed to find a set in perth and luckily i new the right people and they were on thier way in no time.

    d37d1991.jpg

So they turned up last week and i got them fitted up with 175/60 r13s and im very stoked with how they look on the ute.

Also folded up a rear wing and am not quite happy with it so a new one will be folded up tonight along with 2 other spoiler type things

So this is the wee beast as i bought it, im offically the second owner. The ute has a bit of history in the area. Was bought from the dealers down the road in 1983 hand has been in the area its whole life. When i took it to the dealers to get a few parts they all knew of it and were more then happy to help out.

It is an st90 with an f8a engine (thats a mighty 800cc of fury)

It has a curb wheight of 645 kg so thats not to bad really.

Downside is it has a 5.1 diff and isint quite motorway capable(problem to be solved)
