Ahh, just repainted the bay itself, and also painted up everything else that could be seen (just used engine black, and silver too).
I'll ask my bro if you can borrow the crane, it should be sweet though.
Feel free to pop round whenever
Cheers mate _b
So did you do a proper spray gun job etc? or spray cans?
-
Just saw your update mate, looking damn good.
How did you manage to get the bay looking so good? Also I might need to borrow that crane for beer
Will have to swing by and she her in the flesh sometime.
-
Saw what appeared to be a bright orange Mk. IV Cortina in a driveway on Glenfield rd this afternoon.
-
Oh, Indy, I'll clean yours if you really want/for some beers
lol cheers mate....but it's something I've been keen to do for a while now. Will get that rebuild kit and get crackin' if I get stuck I'll give you a buzz aye. Beer of course will be at hand.
-
Yeah I got new ones but they were not as good as my original ones for some reason - admittedly when I was chucking them back together I was fairly average on my knowledge of SU's
Yet to buy a kit, but will hopefully next month. Even if it's not perfect at least getting the option of buying it is damn good.

Gotta love SU's!
If we're talking jets etc I too have heard of the boil them with some lemon juice trick. Can't say if it works or not.
-
Ah, SP450andLE, you look like you've got it down to a fine art.......wanna do mine? lol
-
Just seems to make perfect sense to me. Gonna have a few generations of kids like myself who know nothing else.
It's gonna be interesting to say the least. But I hope everyone is right and it's gonna work in the long run
-
I prefer the current rule. I'm shitting bricks about this change over.....I ride a motorcycle to work *facepalm* lol
-
can you get a cert with fixed rail seats?
can at the moment but thats changing soon- if the drivers seat was adjustable from factory, a modified seat will have to be as well
Wouldn't it be a bit trickey to keep track of such information for every car? say some from the 30s and 40s etc?

i was told that the aa badges all belong to the aa and if they ever spot them on trademe they take them back since you 'clearly dont require it anymore'
Tui?
My AA badge says the following:
"Property of the AA New Coventry SE London W.1
This badge MUST be returned when membership ceases"

Donno if it's the same as yours, or if you're even interested...
-
Yep those ones would suit your Viva better, I think I might get one for mine too actually.
They pop up on tardme every so often _b

I put some autodec carpets in my avenger. basically the same experience as Cletus. Guy was very nice and helpfull, carpetd were good quality but not the best fit (still looked good though). However for the price, you cant really go wrong. I imagine it would be a lot more work involved to make your own and get them to look as good (depending ont he4 shape of the floor etc)
+1 here too.
The price is ok, the carpet looks and feels nice, but the fit wasn't perfect. Not to mention my saz installing skills didn't help, but doesn't matter as it still looks a shit load better than the old stuff.

I want an old UK AA badge. But Kiwi one will do. anything late 60's early 70's.
One of these puppies?
-
I have a UK AA badge (60s), hoping to get a Landcrab club badge next month.
Donno if I'll join the AA, they have it out for us motorcyclists...
-
Great advice given lads.
I'm pretty much following the plan of attack Testament gave.
Look forward to the build thread.

Theres been a young guy (Taka Grammar) running round the shore in a yellow sport. I've watched it get rougher and rougher during his ownership
Had original looking decals and stuff, haven't seen interior. I know a guy who knows him though?
That sounds sad
-
Bonus; 6 speed box for the wank factor of saying you have a 6 speed.
That's what motorcycles are for lol

1800 B series engine.
blow the other $1500 on booze and spares.
Spares? The B series was pretty bullet-proof no?
Yep, don't worry mate, your BGT will be fine!
As AC said, it's for the rust!
Thanks you MG owners my crab has engine parts for Africa!
Should get a photo of a East-West engine next to a North-South
-
Look choice mate!
Will have to see it one day
-
I saw a yellow escort on the shore today, rego IW7090.
-
They won't chase it up.
