glue layers of that camping matt stuff together then hit it with a belt sander.
then glue a tea towel to it for extra credits of cool.
-
you need this, vacuum powered coolness...

Also, you shouldn't need mudflaps as the guards should be no more than 12 mm from the road.
jigsaw to a template then clean up with a grinder/sander. shit gets hot when it flings off the grinder. don't wear shorts.

I'm doing a 61 consul if you need a reference for putting anything back together.
still complete and driving - (just)
pretty much the same as a zephyr, only a 4 cylinder...

it will look worse than it is. peel the tape/burnt bits off, fix what's left.
might have to see if i can make it over one night to give a hand,
done lots of this kind of repair in the past.
hardest bit is finding grey tape...

good reading at this site, well worth a look.

sounds like you have used the dash light feed for an earth.
happens all the time.
recheck stereo wiring.
-
keen for the bbq thing mentioned earlier.
-
is the dash wiring in and things do not go?
or do you need everything hooked up?
fuze boxes on these are a common problem.
they have shitty ceramic fuzes that corrode the ends up.
run your finger up an down them to "roll" them in their sockets,
usually works wonders.

my bad, probably because i only gave it 1 coat after wiping most if the dirt off it...
fitted in well with the rusty flames though...
-
have used fortec primer with good results.
did my old merc in gmh black, (as above) cheap but very thin.
rubs off after about 6 months.
would have fortec anyday.
used about half a litre to paint a 323 wagon i had.

check spark with one of the plugs.
have had plugs short out in the past when using 95 fuel after a couple of days.
even more so with stale fuel.
caught a few people out in the past, especially on older/low compression engines.
worth a shot...

I agree. wicked.
Shift lights and wiring them in....
