    What could go wrong? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/cruiser/triumph/listing/4360495323

Have never ridden a 790 Bonnie, but have owned a 865cc carb'd Scrambler and that was fine (though was brand new).

@governorsam you have a 790 don't you? general thoughts on them? (internet seems to think they're pretty solid).

Buy it. 790s have better cams.

have been thrashing the shit out of mine for about 10 years.

Thought the SoT conflicted with something.

Enquiries have told me the answers to Triumph power boost all involve money and kits produced for that engine. Not really my thing, I prefer original thought and budget alternatives.

Think a 2-1 exhaust and jetting are next on the list.

have done all the other mods for a “stage 2 tune/jetting”except that.

got an arrow muffler that should work.

no idea what size headers to make, or short / long primary pipes.

    any thoughts?

    cheers.

Planning on doing any performance improvements on that ?

Borrow it for a weekend, ( in road trim) and tell me what you think.

    it’s about 200kg factory.

good road bike, but not a fire breathing monster.

    19” front wheel, but predictable.

  5. Slightly Bevel the end of the brushes that contact the commutator.

    Helps bedding in.

did my apprenticeship on old British stuff, later on worked at allparts motorcycles in chch.

    done heaps of these.

also make shure the brush moves freely in the holder.

everthing you are doing look fine.

another trick is to run the starter on jumper leads after you assemble it, and push the splined end into a piece of wood to load it up.

Most sparkie shops I worked at had big chunks ground out of the broom handle from this.

    cheers.
