I've hmm'd and haaa'd over that for some time. I believe its pretty rotten in the sills & floor. I even tried to convince myself that it was possible to graft the roof & tail section onto a donor sedan. Then I realized that I lack any necessary skills and/or tools to attempt such a job.

Just to throw my 2 cents in. I know where there is a very rough 808 coupe. Its pretty bare though & dereg. Will probably be very cheap though.

I'm over the whole "stance/poke/stretch" look. I got sick of getting pulled over for stretched tyres. So I decided to go for the standard unmolested look. I hunted high and low for some factory 14x8 MA61 Supra wheels. I eventually found some up in dorkland. Paid far to much for them & had them sent down. They came with all the centre caps & wheel nuts. I also painted up & fitted my roof spoiler. So this is the result:

Oooh Id like that very much. Sadly I cant shed any light on market value.

Oh alright then. I don't think a car will be on the cards by then, or even a bike. At the moment a Raleigh 20 is looking like my best option...

I generally find the ones who yell "RB RB RB" and "FTP" Whilst little Jonny "hits it" in his Cefiro are a lost cause. And they do wreck the event. Unfortunately when even a small-ish minority play up like that the whole event gets tarred with the "Boy racer" brush in the eyes of the public. Changing that is a hard task because its nearly impossible to filter those type of people out of such a large event. I find that we don't have that problem at oldschool events.

I was going to enter the Triumph with Timeless Rides. Until I got to the entry fee part. $90!!! Those jammy thieving bastards. Id expect it to be cheap for cars entering a car show. The cars are the entertainment. If nobody entered they wouldn't have a show.

Yes as above. 1K could get you some pretty sweet rims ex Japan.

Yeah by the looks of things we (as oldschool) are not in the right "clique" in the promoters eyes. Which is pretty shitballs.

With regards to the wheels, if they're off a S1 RX7 then they should be 4x110pcd? I could be wrong.

This Celeste is sitting next door to my place just rotting. He wont sell it.
Other stuff I snapped on my travels, This camo bedford van with sweet as Bedford Stud pattern Tridents
Lancia Prisma? Been sitting in a orchard for a few years
And this semi old school Alfa 33.

120Kph was all I was game enough to get my one up to. It sounded like it was doing LOTS of revs.

oh my... If that is a genuine savage cortina then its worth saving.

I recently had a 77 Hunter station wagon. Standard 1750cc With standard single Stromberg carb and it was far from gutless, It went really well. Perhaps your one just needs a good tune? As for easily cruising at 100kph the limiting factor is the gearing not the actual motor. I had to cruise at 85-90kph as it was revving its nuts off at 100. Try fitting a sedan diff. they are much Higher ratio. 3.5 & 3.7:1 I believe. Wagon ones are shit 4.4:1 usually. Or you could try finding a Manual overdrive gearbox from the likes of a singer vogue or sunbeam rapier. Hope this helps.

I'd like to see Oldschool represented in its South Island form. Surely we could throw something together. I can contribute 2x of my Average cars.

I'm currently using the old girl as my daily seeing as both my jap cars & my swedish car are broken! It purred to the Hanmer meet with no issues at all & returned a respectable 30mpg. But I want better. Soo in the quest for better fuel economy I got this:
Hopefully overdrive will give me a few extra mpg.
In other news I fitted up my 15x9s with some 195-50-15s.
Two days later I was pulled over by the local constabulary informing me that they "are not allowed" and telling me about all the inherent dangers of my wheel & tyre combination. Thankfully he was a nice guy about it & told me to go home and take them off.

Yes most definitely. If i could afford it I'd be down there.
Importing Left hook cars from USA
in General Car Chat

Firstly, How old do they have to be in order to be registered here without being converted to RHD?
And secondly has anyone imported anything from the states that can recommend a shipping company?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
