So Irish Dave aka avengertiger has kindly taken my Celica. Alex I'll PM you about the oldschool banner.
-
I managed to online register Jane in the Triumph and myself in the Celica. I guess we could call the organizers and drum up registration via the phone as a group booking kinda thing

so have we registered as a group or do we have to do individual entries?

I'll take them back to the tyre shop tomorrow. I took them to work and showed them to the local certification guy, he didn't like them at all. Way too much stress on the studs. As the nuts are tightened the wheels are flexing and pulling the wheel studs inwards.
I had a look at some ROH's on my workmates hilux. Meet up with the hubs nicely. No gap at all.
The centre hole tapers back in to meet up with the hub whilst as my D-windows are dead flat where they bolt up.
-
It doesn't sit nicely at all. There is only a tiny outer area in contact with the hub with a gap of about 3-4mm behind the mounting face. Even old modgies have a reasonably flat mounting surface. It almost looks like the D windows have been pressed wrong.
-
So I got a set 15x8 Diezel D windows for the Mrs' Toyota bB, I fitted them up yesterday but they just dont seem to be right. Where they bolt up to the hubs isnt flat. See here:
You can see where the hub is touching on the outside. So naturally I thought that maybe the bB's hubs are odd ball. So i tried them on a friends Civic and it has the same problem. Basically they dont mount up flat on the hub, leaving a gap behind the mounting surface.
Like this:
see the gap? there is nothing supporting the wheel other than the studs themselves. Needles to say I've taken them off the car.
My question is, do the wheels look like they have been incorrectly manufactured? Surely the mounting surface should be flat?
Cheers

Lol I wish this wasnt on Wednesdays. The only day I cant come!

Pic-less update. Summer is coming so I'll be getting the old girl out of the shed for a wof. But first the front suspension is well and truly rogered. The front struts are very clunky. The rear isn't much better. So I'll be pulling it all out & installing new shocks, spring pads & bushes. I also need some new Eagers as my sidewall are cracked to shit.
-
Heaps of time! So will this one be cruising over to Kaiteri or just in Tahuna? If its coming to Kaiteri I can just meet you guys in Motueka.
-
Its all for sale I think. I may have purchased some of it.

Its Ok. It needs a fair bit of loving. Has rusted out in the bottom of the rear guards. Last running in 1995.

77 Mini Lighting woes.

I'm trying to fix up the lights on this mini, at the moment they are well on the piss. The issue is as follows:
With the headlights on the LH rear indicator is also on all the time.
With the lights off and the left indicator on it makes the park lights/tail lights go on both sides. Front and rear and the dash lights to the flashing motion of the indicator.
There is no issue with the right indicator, the headlights still operate fine on high and low beam.
I'm thinking earthing problems but im not sure where to start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
