  1. I have some ACL pistons out of a 1300 crossflow and I am trying to figure out if they are high or low compression. They have Repco cast into one side and ACL319 on the other, I have contacted an ACL agent and they where as helpful as a fart. They have some other cast in number, but they are all different between each piston.

How do I figure this out????

Any help would be good thanks.

  2. Hi there,

Just purchased an escort engine said to be a 1300 GT. Do any of the external numbers identify it as a GT engine? I have pulled the pistons out and they have 511GB or 511GR stamped on top. Have stripped down engine, are there any numbers on any components that would help me identify it.

  3. Found out compression ratios for those who are interested (this is on another of my posts).

    1300 LC pistons give a compression ration of 9.5:1 in a 1600

    1300 HC pistons give a compression ration of 10.3:1 in a 1600

    1300 Gt pistons give a compression ration of 11:1 in a 1600

  4. Yes, but that post was about the gt valve and cam specs.

I decided to start a new post about the pistons.

Found the answer to my own questions

    1300 LC pistons give a compression ration of 9.5:1 in a 1600

    1300 HC pistons give a compression ration of 10.3:1 in a 1600

    1300 Gt pistons give a compression ration of 11:1 in a 1600

  5. Thanks Eskinator, good to know, guess I will not be using those then.

Does any one know what compression ration I will get with Standard 1300 HC and LC 1300 pistons in a 1600????

    I am after about 10:1 in a 1600

  6. Does anyone know what compression ration I will get if I put 1300gt pistons (which are 9.2:1 in a 1300) into a 1600???

    I also have a set of 1300LC and 1300HC.

Which pistons should I use to get a compression ration of around 10:1 in a 1600???

  7. Ok...Does anyone know what compression ration I will get if I put 1300gt pistons (which are 9.2:1 in a 1300) into a 1600??? I also have a set of 1300LC and 1300HC.

Which pistons should I use to get a compression ration of 10:1 in a 1600???

  8. Does anyone know if a 1600gt camshaft is the same as a 1300gt camshaft. Also are 1300 gt valves are the same size as 1600 gt ones? Would a compression ratio of 10.2:1 run on 95? I am looking at buying a 1300gt engine and putting all the goodies onto a 1600 block. As most ford lovers know a 1300 pistons in a 1600 raise the compression and I am not keen on plaining the block. Any other info you have would be much appreciated.

    Cheers Jamie
