  1. Any one have some 1300HC pistons for sale??
  2. Thanks for the offer but I have a manifold for it already. The nikki manifolds for Kent engines have cross flows cast onto them where they bolt onto the head.
  3. I have recentl purchased a Nikki carb for my escort. It as vacum secondaries ad a big side glass to see the float. It looks unused, but it it missing something that screws into the side, This hole with a tread into it goes into the throat of the carb, but the holes into the throat are tiny. Does any one have any photos or info on these carbs?? Should I just fille it up, does it effect how it runs?? is it just a vacum plug?
  4. I have heard that a 1600 OHC head on a 2L brings up the compressoin. Is this true? What does it bring it up to? Are the valves the same diameter?? Should I have flat top pistons or the ones with s bowl if I use 1600 head?? I am keen on any cheap power makes for the 2L pinto as I am about to rebuild mine!!!
  5. I have just bought a 1300GT engine. It has a factory lightened flywheel, weber, the cam has been reground to who knows what spec. But the pestons have valve cutouts!!! Are these GT pistons??? My haynes manual a bought says GT pistons dont have the cutouts. Are mk2 GT pistons different??? As I know that there are variations between GT engines, but I am not sure about the pistons. Has the bottom end been replaced with a standard one?? Any help would be much appreiated.
  6. I have some ACL pistons out of a 1300 crossflow and I am trying to figure out if they are high or low compression. They have Repco cast into one side and ACL319 on the other, I have contacted an ACL agent and they where as helpful as a fart. They have some other cast in number, but they are all different between each piston. How do I figure this out???? Any help would be good thanks.
  7. Hi there, Just purchased an escort engine said to be a 1300 GT. Do any of the external numbers identify it as a GT engine? I have pulled the pistons out and they have 511GB or 511GR stamped on top. Have stripped down engine, are there any numbers on any components that would help me identify it.
  8. Thats what I like to see...a happy customer. (Hopefully all this equals a happy Mrs when her Escort can keep up with mine )
  9. Awesome thanks, saves me going in blind, but with the HC and LC stamped onto them I would have figured it out eventually.
  10. I have three sets of escort 1300 pistons one set are from a GT (are for sale) and easy to idenitify. How do you tell the difference between the 1300 HC and LC ones? They both hace the same dish(pistons volume of 38cc)!!! Does any one have the part numbers???
  11. Found out compression ratios for those who are interested (this is on another of my posts). 1300 LC pistons give a compression ration of 9.5:1 in a 1600 1300 HC pistons give a compression ration of 10.3:1 in a 1600 1300 Gt pistons give a compression ration of 11:1 in a 1600
  12. Yes, but that post was about the gt valve and cam specs. I decided to start a new post about the pistons. Found the answer to my own questions 1300 LC pistons give a compression ration of 9.5:1 in a 1600 1300 HC pistons give a compression ration of 10.3:1 in a 1600 1300 Gt pistons give a compression ration of 11:1 in a 1600
  13. Thanks to ESKIN8R I know that 1300gt pistons give a compression ratio of 11:1, does any one know what 1300 HC and LC give in a 1600???
  14. Thanks Eskinator, good to know, guess I will not be using those then. Does any one know what compression ration I will get with Standard 1300 HC and LC 1300 pistons in a 1600???? I am after about 10:1 in a 1600
  15. Does anyone know what compression ration I will get if I put 1300gt pistons (which are 9.2:1 in a 1300) into a 1600??? I also have a set of 1300LC and 1300HC. Which pistons should I use to get a compression ration of around 10:1 in a 1600???
  16. Ok...Does anyone know what compression ration I will get if I put 1300gt pistons (which are 9.2:1 in a 1300) into a 1600??? I also have a set of 1300LC and 1300HC. Which pistons should I use to get a compression ration of 10:1 in a 1600???
  17. Would i get away with 95 with 11.2:1 if i set it up right?
  18. Cool thanks for that guys....very good to know. What octane would I need for 11.2:1 as i have read 1300gt pistons bring the ratio up to 11.2:1, does anyone know???
  19. Does anyone know if a 1600gt camshaft is the same as a 1300gt camshaft. Also are 1300 gt valves are the same size as 1600 gt ones? Would a compression ratio of 10.2:1 run on 95? I am looking at buying a 1300gt engine and putting all the goodies onto a 1600 block. As most ford lovers know a 1300 pistons in a 1600 raise the compression and I am not keen on plaining the block. Any other info you have would be much appreciated. Cheers Jamie
