  1. How hard will it be to get a 05 dual vvti 2jz-ge running in my mk3 supra?...can i use the standard ecu? or will i need a mega dollar link? Or can I get all the dash interior loom n guages and use them to?
  2. What model 3.9 head is best to bring up the 4L compression?
  3. I know alot of the stock cars boys do this, an I am keen to do this to get my XA Coupe driving, maybe even leave it in there permanently with the way gas prices are. Anyone know what model falcon dizzy you use? And what manifold and carb are best suited? AU XR6 motor the best option? Any info ideas would be appreciated. (Apart from dont tell me to put a V8 in it...why? AU motor $400 same power, better on gas, just not the same sound)
  4. I think there is a bit extra cause of the direct injection. Yeah, I have looked on the Beams 1g-fe ans supercharged would prob make 200+hp But vvti JZ are pretty good on gas, and good for towing FSE engines are almost impossible to get hold of but would be my number one choice if i could find/afford one!
  5. http://www.autofiles.org Not going V8 LOL vvti 2JZ-GE is the one for me or vvti 1JZ single turbo if i cant track down a 2JZ
  6. I dont want 250-300 hp all the time, just for the occasional track day, I have helped set up a supercharger from a estima before on a vl and it worked mean, just got a different a front pulley a ran a dedicated belt, use no more gas... and only slighty more when it was boosting.
  7. LMAO, that would be the last of the pushrod holden sixes, I am helping put on into a 38 chev atm, we just pulled out a 55 motor (After just fitting a custom oil filter as they dont have one standard, but the hole it there for them) I looks just like the chev six in the engine bay and it blts up the the 38s gear box!!! Does 30MPG with my falcon diff in it is now 5 stud (front took some modding)...so the mag options are endless. ANY WAYS If i can get 35mpg out of a supra again, i will be stoked!!!!!!!!!
  8. Think I am convinced on the 2JZ...Think a sc-14 super charger with the electronic clutch will fix my power needs
  9. What about vvti 1JZ single turbo, with the boost turned down? And then I could turn it back up for track days
  10. LOL...id go super-charged 2nd gen buick nailhead, with lake pipes!!!
  11. I want supra, I bike to most places (uni and work), but for long trips, I dont want a gas guzzler. I have had a 7M, once head gasket was replaced, higher torque settings fixed is, did 100,00ks and then sold it. No problems, people just need to open the cam covers, pull out one head bolts, slide in a stud a d repeat the process, you dont even have to take off the head to fix it permanently...for $200
  12. Yeah, 2j-ge and vvti 1j-single turbo are top of my list now.
  13. LOL, for economy? the JZs have awesome heads..so leaning that way..
  14. My plan involves my shell which has no engine/box at all It was originally a 1G-GTE-auto, but seeing as that will cost more than...lets say a 1JZ-GE, I thought I might as well make it more economical as possible...for the cost of a cert. I am not actually looking at the engine on trademe, just using the ones I posted links of as references to engines I am looking at. Plus the above quotes MPG sounds better than my 1300 escort which I drive everyday. I should have stated at the start I have no engine for a supra whatsoever at the moment.
  15. LOL, what are you doing on this site if you don't understand why? It is for the same reason I am putting a V8 in my falcon, but I an also making that as cheap to run as possible... rather than going to a 6 ;D
  16. What about this? Would does the vvti on this make it more economical or just6 make it have more power through out the rev range etc? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 372147.htm
  17. Yeah, i just spotted this yesterday...looks pretty good depending on shipping costs. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =360593922
  18. Yeah, fse is good, but electrics sound twice as complicated as normal loom set ups. Plus, 2gr is prob out of my price range....
  19. Not going for biggest power or else I would make JZA70 out of it. What are the electrics like for a 2GR?
  20. 2GRFE is very interesting, does the highlander and Estima have north west engine configuration? Does that engine come in a smaller cc rating?
  21. Yeah thought so, was just looking at these boxes cause they are cheap as (for a manual let alone a 6 speed), I can get one for $500. Main goal is for economy for me, already lost my licence in a supra before, need a supercar
  22. Yeah, I was just looking at the six speed because My mate has a 3.73 supra diff, I am going to check out to see if it is an lsd, will keep an eye out for a 3.9 as that is what my old supra had and it was mean.....but no plan are in concrete yet.
