What are the fattest tyres for 15x6 and 15x8 rims I can get, within reason, 275s go on the 8s but look a bit ballony and would prob handle like crap. I,m thinking 225-235/60s on the 6s and 245-265/60s on the 8s any thoughts? What would look/handle best?

Good idea!!!

Dizzy a disadvantage?

I am going 1JZ-Ge, I have 1st option on a complete 1991 JX81 Chaser atm. But am keen on a JX90 I am eyeing up, but am waiting to hear back on(would get better resale on the body LOL).
-
Which model chaser has interchangeable suspension components with the A70 supra? I am looking at two cars for drivetrain and maybe suspension for my supra project. I am also wanting to know which year chaser etc stopped using the distributer and started with crank angle sensor etc? (Dragged home my supra and is a bit more spartan than I realised LOL) so whatever I can scrounge from a whole chaser is a bonus.

Yeah, more info would be great, this car I am building is for a female driver of an oldschool car. So wet braking performance is my top priority.
-
Hankook H437 or Maxxis UA603...these are pretty much my only option for the size I want 185/60/13's without paying $150+ I have heard Maxxis are poo, but apparently their good ones are good.

I was wrong, he used an extra 1.5L per 100ks before tune, not sure what he is getting after the tune though.

Street machine June 2009 will explain about the liquid LPG My goal is a supra I can drive everyday....if it doesn't work out, it's getting adjusties, stripped right out, a half cage and drifts on ;D
-
Yeah got a push bike, and a mondeo that does 40MPG, LPG just makes mean power. Guy I know who has and LS1 was making 300kw on pump fuel and getting 25MPG @ $2.25 a L LPG liquid injection 315kw before tune 327kw (would get more if he raised the compression above what petrol can handle)after tune and still gets 25MPG!!! @ $1.78 I think The thermal efficiency of performance LPGs is insanely good (More energy from combustion converted to power than creating heat than with a petrol motor). Think I will go LPG on my coon ;D Plus a supra is not that heavy, only 200kg above average 80s cars..and I am putting mine on a diet, mate works for a boat builder so I am getting carbon fiber interior panels, jamex buckets etc
-
Hmm liquid injection LPG ;D so where do I put the tank in a supra ...bugger LOL
-
What is the minimal amount of wiring required to get it running if it is all integrated??? I am going manual, without abs, etc will it still be simple to wire up?
-
Yeah but I am not into interbreeding cars. Except RXs, they all need 1UZs or similar LOL (mate had a 3.8 buick v6 powered series 1 rx7, only thing that can keep up with is is a rover V8 track day starlet ;D)
-
Yeah, maybe, but with the electric clutch, it is just a N/A 1JZ as the pulley is spinning freely. (I just like it cause it mad max style as I have an XA coupe too) Plus with it not being decompressed it will have good low down power and at 100ks less need to change down a gear. Have considered a single turbo vvti 1JZ, they are not overly priced aswell.
-
Ah ill go N/A 1JZ, pull out the air con and slap in a sc16( I can do 90% of the engineering myself), with a on/off switch and run it off the air con belt LOL Switchable performance. Sound good? Are the single VVTIs a prick to wire up?
-
Yeah, but if you where after economy, you wouldn't do up a a falcon six, you'd leave it standard and nana it around, plus, my carbied xf 6 did over 32 MPG, my efi only did 28MPG, both stock standard to start with ;D Plus my carbied one ate my efi one in performance, but I have not tried the muiltipoint one out for economy.
-
Ohk, I'll keep that in mnind, I know those motors quite well, (the carbed verion is higher compression than the fuel injected one) not many people know that and so do up the fuel injected ones.
-
Ok cool, thanks, are there any better flowing manifolds, that looks like the angles are very sharp and not very good for flow?!?1
-
So which falcon has the four wire dizzy?
-
Yeah, just I have seen heaps of vvti 1JZs on you tube, but gues the dual vvti a different thing all together do deal with (and i have 1st option on a 05 (LEXUS/Altezza) dual vvti 2JZ-GE complete, loom to gauges for just over $1500 delivered to my door) ...bugger it would be such a mission to set up
-
All of the above, plus I was doing a 2L escort Just about finished 1300 ( was getting 1300GT info for building up 1600 high compression (bits for sale om TM) escort...gave up on the pushrod and dropped in a 1600 OHC cause every OHV block I looked at was pitted etc... XA coupe long term dream car project.... Sold some of the 2L escort stuff http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 757914.htm and bought a Mk3 widebody aerotop supra ;D drifties on (Need a tow wagon) so start off with economical engine and make it a little gruntier. I have had 4 mk3 supras, this is number 5....
-
Could I run standard 2JZ-GE injection on a daul VVTI long block?
-
I'd try for the EL/F dizzy first I think, I know a guy who has just dont this, will set what dizzy he used as he just dropped in into the engine, no modding.
-
Steel sump from ea/eb?
-
Keen on the LPG motor with a cam regrind..... Yeah, I just looked and there are a few manifolds out there, just chucking ideas around atm, got to finish some other cars first so I can make room for my Coupe in the shed LOL
