someone needs to make one of those bikes with a geared handlebars that make it turn backwards
-
oooooh k gear headsMy 2jz had a fault in my old crown wagon where it would drain the battery over a night or two.Chucked amp meter on it, pulling 2 amps or something from memory.pulled fuses till I found the one that stopped it draining. Was for the charge circuit. What I found was tha if I ran the car and switched it off, the draw would be there, until I unplugged the alternator. If I plugged it back in, the draw would not return till I ran the motor. So, correct me if Im wrong, but sounds like a rectifier fault correct?
Id say yes the diode pack in the rectifier has failed and causing a drain

So progress haven't had much time to work on the beast with the house renos taking my time but ive taken a break and with some fine weather tackled some jobs.
so put new rollcage padding in and some new 6 point harness
put in a 1.5 and a 1kg extinguisher in the car to meet requirements
and when i got the dcoe 45 off Blizzo he had washed the filter in petrol K&Ns don't like this and they shrink and go hard as you can see a bit of a difference
fitting it is a challenge as you can see its a wee bit tight for room
did a bunch of little bits and pieces like fix the washer jets so they spray in a useful place and clean the connector to the wiper motor so they would work properly , also sealed up a few firewall holes, greased the front caliper sliders , replaced the 2 mismatched ht leads, replaced a dodgy hose clamp and fitted a factory expansion bottle that i got from pick a part to replace the random one that was just sitting loose

don't know much about the electric pumps but you could look at a diesel alternator as they have vac pumps for this very purpose on them

Has anyone had any experience with doing launch control and rev limiter diy on a carbed car ? see you can buy them at 2-300$$. Surely something can be done with an arduino keen to put a rev limiter on my rally car for when I get a bit too rev happy and avoid any damage when getting airborne. Saw someone on here had done it with a mx5 using ecu inputs ect

might want to do some digging husky used them quite a bit in the rideons and judging by when you spun it it didnt turn did you try it in any other gears ?

Not a hydrostatic drive?

so not much has happened just tackling some of the small jobs and fixing some shitty wiring
Ever since I got the car it seemed to take forever to warm up but the fans would come on since my sender was in the top hose and the fan switch wasn't I figured the thermostat may be stuck shut and it was when I tested it so , New thermostat , radiator cap and gasket went on. I also tidied up some wiring as the terratrip had a 15 A glass fuse in it and had those shitty push in holders I hate as they can cause bad connections so put in 2x new blade fuse holders and the correctly rated fuses. wired it up some dash switches to power the terratrip and intercom and the intercom seems to work but I need to buy some headsets to test it. Bled up the cooling system and sits rock solid at 180-190 deg F with the new thermostat and doesn't take long to warm up from cold.

Err the only way 126 flywheel kw's is going to haul ass is in a motorcycle.
Nice colour though, should be super reliable compared to some golf that you have to put air into to unlock the doors.
A word of warning, don't rev it too hard, a workmate of mine had one if these in wagon form for a bit after he sold his clubsport wagon. It ended up with an escape artist conrod. He did beat down on it pretty heavily though.
When you have been driving a 2.5l turbo diesel courier for the last year it hauls ass and compared with an average corolla hatch, I think its faster than the blade I drove too and much faster than the brand new focus I had as a work car.

we paid 7500 he wanted 7995 originally
