  1. No motor but I have a selection housings/rotors/end plates and most engine parts etc, actually that bit doesn't worry me so much, I am more worried if there are hard to find interior/exterior parts, yet to get pics but I believe the dash to be in good nick with no cracks, brown interior and the seats are original but apparently a bit rough. Would love to start with a complete car but i don't have the budget for that.

Whats peoples thoughts on the going rate for a series 2 roller? My guess for an average running one would be around 8-10k with a tidy original around 15-20k?? Or has the increase of prices for early rotarys pushed these up as well?

  2. Looking at SA22C series 2 project (sums up most rotary's for sale...) looking to return it to somewhere near stock, what are they items that you would consider hard to find/cost moonbeams that you would want as part of the deal. From what I have been told it needs original wheels, badges, new rubbers and some interior trim needs repairing. It needs full paint and panel, engine but I would love to know pitfalls before I have a look.

    Cheers

  3. It's an easy process now to re-vin using your old black plates, make sure you have the original ownership papers to prove that they are correct and make sure that the plates are in good condition and make it clear to your re-vin agent what you want to do, it should only take a phone call to nzta for approval.

I have had a vehicle that was revinned before the new black plate rule came in, when this rule came in I wrote to nzta and sent copies of the original ownership papers along with photos of the plates and the car in the 1970's and we received a call from nzta and they approved the change, but in this case the vehicle was in the same ownership for nearly 40 years and still under that owner when the change was made.

I also know of a bambina that was revinned using the old plates and he said the process was easy

  4. Looking for information on running a 10a in a 1200 ute, we have the ute (currently with body off getting a full strip and paint) we have the 10a motor and box (removed from a one owner RX3 coupe about 25 years ago so they could put a 1300 808 motor in..) other than fabricating new engine mounts further forward, removing the cast exhaust manifold and fabricating a new one, shorten the drive shaft - is there anything else required to make it fit?? this is for a quiet standard ute, from the outside stock standard including exhaust, cheers
